Will NHL 20 be a black friday deal on the PSN store?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 08:51 AM PST

Asking about the digital copy.. I can't find any evidence yet, and I would hate to buy it full price just to see a half off deal next week.

NHL20BAP Shootouts Take Way Too Long

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 11:02 AM PST

I have found that BAP shootouts especially in the CHL take ridiculously long. I'm making this post while waiting for a probably 18 round shootout to end. And its consistently like this with every shootout. It's just annoying, not fun waiting for a 50 overall defenseman put one in.

    Play of the month candidate?

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 06:18 AM PST

Also in this game: We missed the net on wide open one timers and wristers from the slot, and hit the crossbar on multiple occasions. A game that should have ended 10-2 ended up being incredibly sweaty.

    NHL 20 Online vs

    Posted: 20 Nov 2019 05:11 AM PST

https://youtu.be/loZ_x_4bGn0 Very close game, pressure right to the end. I play as the All Stars, opponent was Canada. I will be posting more videos as I play them so if you like this one stay tuned. Only problem is I don't have a 4k capture card so the ice isn't as detailed but it should be watchable.

    VS has become unplayable

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 06:11 PM PST

Whatever update EA made about a month ago completely ruined what was already a questionable game. Opposing players can slow skate straight from their end right to my net using just left and right on the right stick. Doesn't matter if it's human controller D or I let the computer take over. Stick lift, poke check and checking are useless. It is an unstoppable deke/glitch and it has ruined the mode I've been playing for almost 10 years.

Accidently selected a different team to control in Franchise after creating a team. Anyway to switch to the created team?

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 04:00 PM PST

Spent an hour plus recreating the North Stars in NHL 19. I got done, saved, got to the stage where you name your GM, then it said select team. I was confused, as I thought it would be obvious I'd want to play the team I just spent time creating, but I selected another team. Well, apparently, select team meant select the team you want to GM, and now I basically wasted an hour of my life on a team I can't play. Anyway to fix? I'm on XBone if it matters

How do you guys scout in franchise mode?

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 02:18 PM PST

I am looking for the most optimal way to scout and why. I love to manually do everything so I'm not turning on any auto scouting at all. Here's how I currently scout, I know this isn't an optimal way of doing it, so that's why I'm asking you guys.

    - 6 Pro Scouts

    - 14 Amateur Scouts

    Pro Scouting:

1 scout for each NHL division, 2 AHL scouts that flip between the divisions, one of them covers Atlantic and North divisions, the other covers the Pacific and Central. I have all of these scouts on 2 month cycles. Right now I have no idea how to optimize pro scouting so all I do is set them to scout whole teams and the I set them to scout a "Complete Report" and the scout the entire division for 2 months. I just keep repeating this throughout the year (every "cycle" I swap my AHL scouts to their other divisions). If I start my scouting at the beginning of a season it usually ends up being around Dec 1st, Jan 30th, April 1st, and June 1st when I "reset" their scouting.

    Amateur Scouting:

Here's how I have them broken down.

    - 2 WHL, 2 OHL, and 2 QMJHL

    - 2 American (usually 1 Central and then 1 that scouts both EAST and WEST)

    - 2 SHL

    - 1 Liiga

    - 1 Extraliga

    - 1 Russia

    - 1 DEL

Whenever I scout, I once again do two month cycles. I take whatever day my Pro scouts are due to expire (like I say usually around Dec 1st for the first "cycle") and then I scout Potential and Comparison on all of the highest rated players I can getting the completion date as closeas I can to whatever my Pro scouting expiration date. Obviously the reasons I have more scouts in WHL, OHL, QMJHL, SHL, and America is because there are almost always more draftable prospects and better prospects in those regions. To me a draftable prospect is any prospect with a CS ranking higher than 250. The reason I choose 250 is because there is anywhere from 224 to 217 picks in a draft depending if you are using an expansion team or not and I figure you want to scout every player possible that is expected to be drafted, and then most of the players within say 25-30 spots of being drafted in case there is any diamonds in the rough. The reason I have 2 scouts in america instead of 1 is because in general USA Central has way more players than East and West, and having one scout try to accurately scouts all 3 regions just isn't good enough imo. I usually have my Extraliga or my Liiga scout depending on which one has less draftable prospects for that year scout also scout the other leagues in the Scandinavian countries (like the Allsvenskan league) and then my DEL scout, scout the other European leagues like EBEL and NLA. I never usually have my Russian scout leave because I've found russia usually has the perfect about of prospects as to where he can scout basically all of the top 250 ranked prospects and finish right around mid to late june when the draft hits, same with my USA Central scout, and my USA scout that does both the east and the west. Liiga and extraliga sometimes need help, sometimes they don't, it really depends on the year. Some years they will be able to finish scouting their region by like April, other years they can't finish their region unless I bring in another scout to help. Those leagues are a toss up, it all depends on how many draftable players there are for their specific year. As for the SHL, I find that for the first 3-4 seasons for sure the SHL NEEDS two scouts, once you get deeper and into the EA created draft classes and out of the human ones you can sometimes get away with only 1 scout in that league. As for the W, Q, and O, those always need at least 2 scouts, some years one of those leagues is stacked and I actually send a third scout there (usually steal one of my USA scouts, and even sometimes my second SHL scout). What I do for scouting is literally just sort by CS ranking and then scout potential and comparison for all players, any players in the top 100 (roughly the top 3 rounds) I usually scout multiple times in order to try to completely uncover the fog of war on their potential, players in the 100-250 range I try to scout every one at least once, and then as many of them as I can until the draft hits I scout twice. If any of them show signs of being a sleeper pick I scout them twice (like say a dude expected to go 150th and he has top 6 low potential with 3/4 confidence from my scout) and then other players who I scout that intially seem like busts (a guy expected to go 100th with only AHL Top 6 Med potential) I usually leave and move on from. Every two months I check on my scouts and "reset" them, and start scouting more and more people. As well every two months I will travel scouts that need to switch regions.

So that's how I scout in NHL 20 and so far I can say it's a decent way to do it. I say decent though, because I know for a fact other people scout more efficiently than me. If anyone wants to share how they scout in their franchise modes I'm all ears, especially if its PRO scouting advice because I have NO clue what to do when I pro scout. Thanks.

    Stick control attribute

    Posted: 19 Nov 2019 02:05 PM PST

What attribute controls how fast you can move your stick from the left to the right or vice-versa (only using the right-stick, for example when doing the forehand backhand on breakaways)? Is it puck control? Deking? Handeye?
