| Posted: 28 Jan 2020 12:36 AM PST This is the first NHL game I've ever bought. The controls are a lot different than any other game I've ever played (PS4). I'm playing 3's online and am getting the swing of things decently, but I'm struggling with a few things. In general, I just want to learn how to get better at this game. All of my friends play and I'd prefer to not be fucking brutal every time we play together lol. The things I'm struggling most with is that I feel that it's basically impossible to skate away or avoid a hit. It's basically inevitable because I don't know how to counteract it. To go with this, every time I try to hit someone, they avoid it with ease that's just looks embarrassing on my part. Has there been something that's helped you get better at movement and hit evading in this game? The other thing that's been frustrating me a bit is that it seems that every single shot the other team takes goes in, and that my shots are always saved. Is there a high percentage/chance shot in this game that I don't know about? I try my best to deke and whatnot but people are scoring from the blueline from shots that look like muffins. Anyways, I think I just suck, but I'd like to be better. Any tips for a newby? [link] [comments] |

| Player winning +70% Face-offs without even getting set Posted: 27 Jan 2020 06:58 PM PST I'm generally good at face-offs, win roughly 60% of them and understand all the counters. I've now played against two people in online verses that don't even get set and stand with their stick at their waist and win almost every face-off no matter what I do. Generally the player late to get set for a face-off goes in at a huge disadvantage, so what's going on? [link] [comments] |

(eashl) Like hitting, receiving passes, one timer, ect, the animations seems to take longer than usual. Almost on EVERY play I made, my character get stucks into an animation for a second AFTER what I tried to do.. It seems that for half of the game I can't even control my character.. I played a lot of game for the 2 last weeks and ommgg the little bugs, animations, players that can't take the puck, players that can't lose the puck, all these little things has became worst than ever. Don't tell me to get better, I am above average and I know how to play. I just want to hear other people's thoughts. Does it happens to you? [link] [comments] |
| Does EA care about any other leagues than NHL? Posted: 28 Jan 2020 02:32 AM PST I'm curious as to why there are only huge NHL arenas one can play in (basically), no matter the league? When playing with Swedish teams, it would be nice if it even displayed the correct arena name, instead of "EA Sports Arena, Stockholm".. how couldn't they even add that for the Swedish Hockey League which is ranked pretty high in this game? Where's the true game atmosphere? Stand sections? Etc. If anyone from EA reads this post, let me tell you I'd create all the Swedish arenas for free, and make the players look more like they actually do (unless you implement a system which combines an image with a bitmap.. would make them look incredibly realistic). Outdated player pictures? Outdated outfits? Fans reactions? I feel like fixing these small things would make this game much more pleasant to play. [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 27 Jan 2020 02:23 PM PST Or is this game broken? I just ran some tests and after running the same save file multiple times (roughly 10) using different scenarios it looks like it doesn't .after what you do to your team. If the Sim Engine wants them to lose, they will. I made trades that swapped NHL players, moved lines, made prospect for Veteran trades, changed the coaches, etc. No matter what I did the Sim continually made me lose. On top of that, I finally decided screw it all I will play every game. The first game played I was up 3-0 with the other team BARELY even getting SOGs. But after about 5 shots they broke through, 2 shots later they get another, couple of shots later and the CPU for the other team literally shoots it while facing the other end of the ice and it goes in... I'm not a fan of "this game is rigged" but it REALLY feels like once a game file is saved the outcome is predetermined. Am I the only one experiencing this? [link] [comments] |
| Wrong in-game stats for players Posted: 27 Jan 2020 02:03 PM PST I keep seeing these weird stats in-game. Matt Duchene, Connor McDavid, and Tyler Seguin scored their first career goals this season against me (congrats guys!!!) and the goalie stats during the pregame show up completely wrong, and the same for both players (Binnington and Rinne were both 6-6-1 with a 3.20 GAA in game 50 of the season) Is there ANYTHING I can do to fix this?
