EA Sports NHL Puck went into orbit for a second. Small detail but maybe a animation of players looking up and keeping their eyes on the puck could be in the future?

    Looking for EASHL Club PS4

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 08:44 AM PDT

I'm looking for a team to join and learn/grow with. I'm relatively new to NHL but I have picked up on it and I understand the basics. I can play Defender, wing, or goalie. Been playing drop in 6v6s and about 10 games of league but it wasn't a full 6v6.

At this point I just need someone to pick me up and introduce me to the 6v6 league. I have a lot of competitive gaming experience such as high level nba 2k pro am which is very similar to this and I feel I will be able to pick up on this and learn quickly. I'm willing to play any position/build needed. PM me if you got a spot open.

Online play . 6 people one team?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 11:29 AM PDT

Hi all. Me and a friend just realized you can play on the same team online against others. Not 3v3. Like regular NHL teams. We even noticed a team with 3 players on it. What is the max actual people you can have on one team? Will it let you have the actual 6 players ?

    Goalie EASHL save %?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 09:21 AM PDT

Been practicing goalie trying to find a club team to join, and I'm curious what a realistic save % would be? Obviously 100% would always be ideal (lol) but obv that's impossible every game due to weird ricochets and rebounds. So I wanna know what percentage I should be striving to maintain on average in order to be an elite goalie so I know if I'm performing at an expected level or if I need to improve.

    I'm assuming in the 90+ % range?

    Button mappings and other gripes

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 09:19 AM PDT

*Keep in mind I mostly play VS Online with another "couch co-op" buddy.

Passing the puck is the same button as change to the closest player. Countless times I've tried to change to the closest player but accidentally end up passing the puck instead. These controls should not share a button.

Why isn't there icon player switching yet, so I can take over the exact player I want on the ice? Lots of times there is a player on the ice where neither myself or my teammate can switch to them. Maddening.

Hitting, for some strange reason, still uses the identical r-stick motion as shooting the puck. I've taken many penalties for interference because I am trying to shoot the puck but end up hitting the defender instead. Why is the hit button even a part of the right stick? The R-stick should only control the players stick like sweeping and shooting, not hits. Hitting should be controlled by a button, not the r-stick.

Why can't the person not taking face-offs switch to other players before the puck drops? Another lost feature from the past.

Why is there no indication of your player's position? It would be nice to know if I am controlling a defender, winger, or the center. Hard to know what position to play when you have no idea what position your player is on the ice. UI taking a big step back once again. It would also be nice if there was an indication of their stamina as well.

Why is there no way to avoid taking a pass (don't touch the puck) if there is a player in better position in front of you? This one isn't the biggest deal but it would be a nice feature.

Why don't players try to stay onsides better when cycling the puck in the zone? Players have blue line awareness when coming into the offensive zone (foot drags), but zero awareness of keeping the puck in the zone. Real players work their butts off to make sure the puck stays onsides.

A lot of these things wouldn't bother someone who only plays this game by themselves. When you have another human player controlling a teammate on the ice and you can both switch to other players, some of these shortcomings become glaring problems. These are especially bad when your teammate is controlling the puck and you are a player on offense without the puck. It's like nobody tested the controls under this common condition.

Can you create 2 player NHL season in NHL 2020?

    Posted: 08 Jun 2020 02:32 AM PDT

TL;DR: Can you create a 2 player offline season where we both control our own team in NHL 2020?

Hey there! Me and my dad have been playing NHL 08 for the past decade, friendly matches + a short NHL 2 player season when we don't meet at home (we both control different teams). Sadly, after a decade it gets a little repetitive. So I am thinking of buying him a PS4 and NHL 2020 for our birthday (we are a week apart) so we can play together a newer game.

I am curious thought, I heard stuff about the game being a "card collectors game" and it being very limited. Can we play a 2 player season where we both control a different team? All offline. Also, can you create your own teams/players (in case it gets too easy, we both have teams with 52-56 ratings in NHL 08)?

Thank you in advance for any answers!

    BAP free agency

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:18 PM PDT

Anyone ever gotten more than a 2 year offer and by more than 2 teams? Just finished my second contract. I'm a 96 overall sniper rw who has 850 points in 5 seasons and still only got two offers at 2 years each. I know BAP sucks, just want to see if anyone's ever seen something else?

Minor Details that Would be Cooo in NHL20

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 07:06 PM PDT

    1. Changing the priorities of create a team options. There are SO many locations but none in Mexico. Not even the largest city in N.A, Mexico City. You can be the Burrito Brothers but can't be based in Mexico.
    2. Be a Pro/ Create a Player

There are so many options for other created teams. But if you could remove teeth or change dimensions of legs/torso not just height. That would be super cool.

    1. Menu custimization.

If you could color your menu or change the fonts to HUT or Any menu. It would be reallyimerssive.

    1. Actual negotiation for contracts.

For players you go as low as you can to get a good contract. And for coaches/scouts you have topay them lots.

    1. More modes for offline players

I know that EA cares about money/microtransactions. But more modes would atract a larger audience. SO far there is only Franchise/season, playoffs,ones/threes offline and shootouts/training . Yes this is a lot but they should try to add another one to be the star of the new game.

EA vs 2K vs 989 Sports.

    Posted: 07 Jun 2020 02:09 PM PDT

More of a discussion really. I've been playing a lot of retro gaming lately, especially on PS1/PS2 during quarentine and I can't figure out how or why EAs version of the game would always score higher than 2Ks version, or 989's Face-off series.

It's tough to compare such old games to each other, but man. 989's version was a lot of fun. Although they had the worst graphics of the three, games were more realistic than what EA had. The run-and-gun one timer goal fest existed in the worst fashion. 2K, although the graphics were a bit underwhelming, the techicals and franchise mode felt better than what EA puts out.

For anyone who's older, or into retro gaming, anyone else feel the same way?
