| Posted: 02 Oct 2020 08:28 AM PDT The NHL soundtracks used to be the best - I discovered so many of my favourite bands because of NHL 2004, 2005, 07, etc. Nowadays soundtracks are super short, super repetitive, and filled with music that just doesn't work for hockey like "High Hopes" or "NOW MY FAVOURITE COLOUR IS BLUE." Sure you can just turn it off or just play songs you already like on Spotify instead, but you lose out on the discovery and most of all associating certain songs with good memories of playing the game forever. Playing the new Tony Hawk remaster reminded me even more about far a great soundtrack goes. Why should FIFA players get all the fun? With that in mind, like last year I decided to put together a 44-song NHL 21 soundtrack on Spotify that can be played using the Spotify app on X1 and PS4. People make and post their own soundtracks sometimes, but a lot of the time it's just their favourite songs or a bunch of songs everybody knows from ages ago and people end up just arguing about music taste. To avoid that, I followed some rules that made those old soundtracks so great:

| Stories that I hope to see in the new BAP Posted: 02 Oct 2020 08:28 AM PDT I saw that NHL 21 was going to have 'stories for BAP' and I was kind of curious as to what they would be but they didn't go to in-depth for it. But I had two stories that I think would work well especially for modern day hockey: Story 1: You play in the CHL for any team you want, you work your way to becoming a decent player, you look like you'll go early 1st round in the draft. A cutscene plays, you are hanging out in a bar in the your chosen team's town and you decide to go to the bathroom. Uh oh, 8 of your teammates are stood around snorting coke off the sinks in there. They pressure you, and you begin to hang with them more, doing coke and playing hockey. You still get taken first round but after 4 seasons, a hotter prospect will seemingly be drafted by your team and they will look to trade you out because of your habit and underperformance since your promising rookie days. Can you survive being traded to Ottawa? Story 2: You play in the CHL as an up and coming player, who also happens to be non-white. Several conversation cutscenes are had involving your player being racially discriminated against and escalating to a much smaller white player sexually assaulting you and several teammates, calling you racial slurs and knocking your teeth out so you fight him. But uh oh, the coach tells a scout that because you spoke up you're 'confrontational and a liability to your team.' Can you survive rubber banding between Europe, the ECHL and a small chance of the AHL??? Big /S. [link] [comments] |

I mainly play Be A Pro and CHEL, so I assume all the HUT benefits are pretty much useless to me. Any input on this? And sorry in advance if this is a dumb question. I haven't wanted to play NHL regularly for a while even though I have bought all the editions, so all these bonuses are a bit confusing. Just trying to see what the community thinks. | Does EA Vancouver stagger the release of new features due to a lack of ideas/time? Posted: 02 Oct 2020 09:17 AM PDT With the trailer coming out for Be A Pro this week, it got me thinking about why this couldn't have been featured way earlier in this generation. It's an insult that Live The Life occurred in NHL 14 and 6 years later it is getting a slight upgrade. This chimes with the notion everyone started talking about during the NHL 15 days, that "EA will bring back old features and act as though we should be grateful". What I'd like to know is: could EA already have the faculties to include these features? Does EA potentially stagger these features in order to make sure we buy the next installment? The timing seems to good to be true. Most people I know, myself included, were about to spend years not buying the game due to lack of attention to offline modes. Numero uno on this list is obviously Be A Pro. So I wonder if this is their gameplan. Are we being taken for idiots? [link] [comments] |

Besides the introduction of Ones, theres been nearly nothing from a gameplay, game modes, or graphical perspective to bring me to buy another game. But I really jsut saw the trailers for 21 and some of the new content and it sounds like it might be worth it. Posted: 01 Oct 2020 09:54 PM PDT I'm watching 2bcproductions seattle gm and him and many of his viewers are starting to think line chemistry doesn't effect the slow simulation. his seattle team mostly consists of 82-85 overalls but all the lines have +5 chemistry so he has incredible regular seasons. but when he does the slow simulation for the playoffs the team plays like shit. what do you think? Do you build similar teams and experience the same problems or is 2bcproductions just unlucky? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 02 Oct 2020 06:26 AM PDT It's really annoying to play this game and the only way to score consistently is one-timers. When on earth will the EAsports developers create a game where goalies can actually figure out how to track the puck??? Nope, they can't see the obvious cross ice pass and ensuing one-timer shot, they just don't adjust and cover the other side. You can make an awful/weak pass with an awful/weak shot and have 10x chance to score than any quality shot from the slot. Plus the shear fact that guys can hit one-timer shots with pinpoint accuracy, instead of in reality, where most are very difficult to even put on net. I keep playing and want to score by any means other than this, but you just can't win this way. I've take 1-2 goal leads and then keep trying to be creative with ways to score, but I blow the lead even while outshooting the opponent 3:1. Basically the game is not a matter of who plays better, it's who can setup more one-timers. You can crush someone in every aspect of the game, outshoot them 30-10, but lose 2-3 because they did nothing but attempt one-timers and connected on 3 of them. I can only hope the new game figures a way to make scoring more interesting. [link] [comments] |

I'm still keeping my head as cleared as possible and will play the 10 hours first / look at reviews. Only concerns are: Goalies weren't shown during the BAP video. Cup celly looks the same, will there be a cutscene of us lifting the cup tho? And contract lengths / captaincy issue wasn't addressed during the video. This one is my least concerning thing because they need to add a captaincy "season story" to this revamped mode. I'm genuinely blown away regardless if the dev team. In on season they went from the worst BAP like gamemode in sports and now they're competing with road to the show. Im now almost expecting franchise mode to get an "overhaul" in the next one to two years honestly if the game sells well (gm connected?) [link] [comments] |
