| Any advice would be helpful... Posted: 05 Jan 2021 09:46 AM PST I've been playing the NHL games for as long as I can remember. But ever since NHL 19, I noticed that I've been playing worse. I'm not a Max Level Elite 1 in W.O.C. (I'm P1 Lvl 42 and Gold 3/Silver 1 AT BEST), and I know the game's mechanics and matchmaking are definitely not perfect by any means, but for someone's skill at a video game to decline when playing daily doesn't sound right. Any and all help and advice would be appreciated because I want to get better. *BTW; anyone who comments with anything along the lines of "GIT GUD", "UR JUST TRASH", or "Try uninstalling the game" isn't helping and can go troll somewhere else. I'm love playing Chel, and no amount of low quality chirping is going to stop me. [link] [comments] |

More often than not, I'm in a lobby with initially a, say, 5-vs-5 or 4-vs-4 game on and over the next minute or so, players drop out again until I'm stuck with a 2-vs-2 game or none at all. I can't seem to make sense of it, it's mostly unrelated to Player Levels, e.g. 30s and 40s drop out when paired with similar players as well and it's the same when both teams, or neither, have a manual goalie. I've played a total of 28 games online so far and have always been the away team. What setting can I change to be the home team online? Lefevre has been partnered with various brands over the years, most recently with CCM which is why so many goalies started using CCM pads. Goalies like Price, Hellebuyck, Binnington, Fleury, Gibson, Andersen, Crawford, and more have all switched. You can probably also remove like half of the pads in the customizer since no one in the NHL uses most of them. FIX HAIR COLOURS HAVE BEEN BROKEN SINCE NHL 19, BLONDE IS LIGHTISH BROWN AND EVERYTHING ELSE IS JUST BROWN, BLACK OR GREY. Be a pro: Choosing to start in the NHL makes you start at a 72 overall, vs other options where you start at a higher overall, play games for experience before the NHL, and you get the entire offseason to sim through and do weekly training to tweak your character stats. You should at least get the offseason training to boost your stats. Playing on all star difficulty and I'm leading scorer in the NHL with 59 points in 49 games, with over half my games simmed, and I'm a 77 overall. Elite players should be scoring more if it's going to be this easy for me to get points, or make it harder to get a point every game. team mate AI on (I'm playing on all-star) where team mates skate into opposing defensemen and turn puck over without trying to shoot, pass or go around them. Going offside once is a massive negative on team play for no reason. It's very common in the NHL. Fluidity between coaches challenges, expectations, and opportunity. If coach challenges you before a game to keep your point streak going, he should start off by giving you extra shifts and reduce them if you play poorly. You shouldn't end the game with 14 min TOI on the first line when your coach wanted you to extend your point streak. Coaches mid game challenges should be more realistic in what they're asking and when they're asking them. If I score a goal the coach shouldn't pull me aside and give me the option to not let them score or go score another one. That's not realistic to expect back to back goals. There should be options for playing smart (dump and chase, no turnovers, etc.) Or resting up when you have a big lead (winning by 4 goals so you take fewer shifts and let the bottom 6 guys play more) More options for nicknames for play by play and commentating. Being called the rookie in every situation feels clunky. [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 04 Jan 2021 03:08 PM PST Like many I've been purchasing EA's annual creation, or at the very least annual alteration, in their hockey simulation series since the beginning. But, is it really a hockey simulation? I feel like in order for it to be an NHL hockey simulation it would need to closely represent the game of hockey at the NHL level. Let's be honest, none of the modes do this. Franchise mode is filled with gimmicky scouting, drafting, trading and even free agency processes. None even remotely come close to real life representation. BAP does very little to immerse the player into a real pro hockey life and none of it accurately. HUT is a ridiculous cash grab arcade mode. World of CHEL is..... well I don't know what that buffet of debauchery is but its not real life hockey simulation. May as well call it Sniperzone. Even when you get into the actual game play it looks, feels and behaves nothing like an actual professional hockey game. Physics, strategies, and AI behaviors are so bizarre that I often question if any of the development team has been to a hockey game let alone played it. I'm not exaggerating when I say I can play for 5 min and likely have many examples of unrealistic puck physics, impossible skating physics, incredibly unintelligent artificial intelligence, and all kinds of "huh" head scratchers. I understand that building the perfect real life NHL hockey simulation is probably close to impossible but certainly it can be better than this. I for one would love to see skating physics as close to real life as possible and that would force more real life strategies. Gone with the AI opponents skating vertically through the neutral zone for half a shift waiting for some kind of zone entry or finally conceding to a flip dump in you'll never see over the course of an NHL season. Which I may add has been a go to for the AI for many editions of the game now. Speaking of flips, let's count how many times this season we see penalty killers flip the puck out of the zone. I bet its almost zero, shortened season or not. I would love to see some actual board battles and not just end to end 5'6", 159 lb sniper end to end rushes. How many times will we see 100% of a hockey game's goals the cross crease off the rush one timer? Truth is 5 on 5 its difficult to score. It's difficult to get the puck to the net. It would be great if the game reflected that. If it were just a couple of small little blemishes in an otherwise solid hockey game it wouldn't be an issue but it sure seems to me that the game needs an actual committed overhaul. A bumper to bumper rebuild, and we all know that is never going to happen. 2 cent, over. [link] [comments] |
