Story about my best BaP career, back in NHL19 Posted: 30 Mar 2021 02:24 PM PDT I know a lot of people criticise BaP for lacking many features (especially in older games) but I'd like to share my best BaP experience in NHL19 My BaP NA career started when I got signed by Rimouski Ocenic and spent 2 seasons there, being a mediocre player in the first but vastly improving in the second, playing alongside Lafrenierre Then the draft day came and I went in top 10, with Laf being #1 obviously. I actually don't remember the exact # my player got drafted or even the team which is ironic considering that was my most memorable BaP career but hey what can you do 🤷♂️ I signed an ELC and spent the season playing on 3-4 line, not being great offensively (I played LW) and battling injuries (my player was a smaller, lighter guy who often got hammered by big players) I spent the majority of my second season injured and only played like 20 something games, having very few points My third Pro season started the same way as before, 3-4 line battling injuries and struggling offensively. I decided that it was time for a change so I asked for a trade multiple times Finally my request was successful and I got traded to Dallas Stars. My struggle continued as I only put up a few points and the change of scenery seemed useless. As if it wasn't enough I got injured again. A few weeks later I came back but after a few very bad games I got sent to AHL (this was sometimes towards the end of January iirc). I was immediately named Captain of Texas Stars which greatly improved my confidence and I started playing my best pro hockey, being over a PPG player, leading my team to the top of the league. I thought that I would spend the rest of the season in AHL when surprisingly a call up to the big team came. This was sometime towards the end of March so there was very few games left. I started on 3rd line, finally putting up some decent points as I got moved to the second line. We made the playoffs and won round after round, making it all the way to the finals. I wasn't a huge scorer and got demoted back to the 3rd line, occasionally getting some points mostly from assists. The team made it to the finals and after a long, hard fought series against the Pens won the Cup with me in the linup, being a regular player throughout the playoffs Despite it all being just a game I was incredibly happy. My player, at 20 yo, after 2,5 seasons of struggling, won the Stanley Cup out of nowhere. It was so shocking but it felt so good, definitely my best BaP experience as I've never experienced something like that before. So if you've made it all the way down here you may ask what's the point of the story? The point is, you don't need tons of features or 100% realistic hockey game to have fun, you just need to play the game and maybe the it will be more fun that you could have ever imagined Thanks for reading :) [link] [comments] |

Better Customization in Create a Team Franchise Mode Posted: 30 Mar 2021 07:56 AM PDT EA can you make a update that gives us a better of a customization process ? You go through all this work to create a team and make it look sweet then your goalie has to wear another teams mask and if you try to use the plain Bauer mask they all are white during games ( been a issue in the past 3 games) . Cant you make a goalie mask customizer for created teams ? Or at least give already created options that will match the team colors for created teams with one of your stock logos that we choose to use. Also add more old school gear for players to wear you gave us the Jofa Gretzky helmet but wheres Teemu Selanne classic Jofa 390 helmet, Butch Gorings Helmet or Mark Messier Cooper Sk2000. Dont limit created teams to three jerseys let them add a jersey every season or let them add a retro option after their home away and alternate. [link] [comments] |

Versus needs tiers for selecting teams Posted: 30 Mar 2021 10:19 AM PDT My last 4 games have been against the Lightning and the Leafs. One of the games I was Buffalo and the other was Anaheim. I like bouncing around the league and finding different lineups that work. But it seems pointless when playing 2 of the best teams over and over again, and all they do is take back door one T's lol. Can someone that played this game more than I have explain why I got skipped for ten minutes? Posted: 30 Mar 2021 01:32 AM PDT Typical BAP shit, I'm having a good NHL debut, I am on the 2nd line against Tampa, we're up 1-0 after the first 30 minutes. Then 10:00 happens and BOOM They keep me on the bench for the rest of the period. Ok, but why though? I wasn't turning the puck over, I wasn't causing penalties, I wasn't in a fight, nor was a slightly hurt. So why is it, other than to screw me over, was I sat? It ended up costing me the game, when they FINALLY let me back in at 18:15 so that means I was sat for 11:45 seconds well over half of a period length. However I closed the app cause I'm not accepting that bullshit. Especially when I told my at best 32 year old coach (despite the average age of a NHL HC being 54.) that I'd be the first star. I never mind losing, it comes with any game good or bad, however in my first game against Tampa they scored six goals on 11 shots in the first ten minutes. (unrealistic.) Then they bless me with a 10 minute cool off period? Yeah, time to retry it for the third time. Also can someone give me advice on stealing the puck? It seems like anytime I am behind an opposing player and try to steal it its a hooking, but my opposing team can be on my back the entire time, any help with that? [link] [comments] |
Why is my 99 overall superstar so slow ? Posted: 30 Mar 2021 12:30 AM PDT I was testing out a created player of mine in a quick play now game. TWF, maxed out stats on basically everything. While playing I noticed that he was really slow for some reason, and his shot was really weak. Idk if this has to do with the fact I'm playing on full sim playstyle or his weight/height relativity. It's really pissing me off, does anyone have a solution [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Mar 2021 03:14 PM PDT Connection in EASHL is the biggest determinant for who wins games. On games where my team and I are on 15-25 ping, we poke check everything, can turn/maneuver on the fly, pass instantly, and track hits easier. I think whenever we're on this connection, the other team has 30-50 ping because we are technically "host". Whenever we're the team on 30-50 ping, it's near impossible to win games against good teams who are on the 15-25 ping. The opposite effect happens here, I can't poke check anything, opposing players can skate around me easily and touch pass. Everything is delayed by a second. I don't understand how the game can be so unplayable on 30+ ping. In shooter games, that ping would have zero effect on how I move, everything is still fluid. The only thing I notice is worse bullet hit registration when the ping gets really bad. Does anyone else notice this when playing? Has this been addressed by EA for a future update or in the next NHL? Curious to what others are saying about their connection when playing EASHL. [link] [comments] |
Player passing after asking for puck Posted: 29 Mar 2021 02:55 PM PDT When I ask for the puck at the same time my teammate passes it to me, my player ices the puck down the ice as soon as he gets it. This has lead many times to my player icing the puck on a breakaway. To stop asking for the puck is not a solution because I can't trust my teammates to pass me the puck on a breakaway. Is there a setting to disable this or do you guys have tips to prevent this from happening? [link] [comments] |

I JUST PLAYED MY LAST GAME OF NHL FOREVER THANKS TO ICE TILT BS Posted: 29 Mar 2021 01:55 PM PDT I've been playing NHL games since I was growing up. Literally started probably NHL 07. Always loved the game and have been a fan all my life. At this point, the game has just turned completely sour. I was just playing a game of NHL 21 vs. the computer on All-Star Difficulty. I play Franchise and Dynasty mode primarily. I win probably 80% of the games, so not all the time but a good amount. I was in the third period of the game up 3-0 and the computer scored with probably 12 minutes left to make it 3-1. For the next 10 or so minutes, I am blistering pucks at the net. The computer is putting some pressure on, but with 1:25 left in the game, I am going to the Power Play up 3-1. This essentially wraps up the game for me. But nope. EASports and NHL21 has some dumb program, which basically requires that game be close in the most unrealistic of ways, meaning no matter what lengths they have to go through, they are going to make sure the game is close or interesting at the end. The same can be said for NBA2K, but I've never seen it more egregiously done than in NHL21. I'm up 3-1 with 50 seconds left and the computer is skating up ice and decides to pull their goalie down a man and down 3-1 in the game. This would make it 5-5 since the computer pulled their goalie and because I was still on the Power Play. Skating up ice, the computer dumps the puck into the zone. My 86 overall player skates behind the net to get the puck, but somehow, uncontested, bobbles the puck and basically leaves it behind the net for the computer team to pick up. Th computer team begins cycling the puck like crazy for the next 20 seconds and is somehow is able to score the most hack one-time goal I've ever seen in my life. Literally passed the puck through the crease without my goalie poke-checking it and they somehow scored to make the game 3-2 with 30 seconds left. Just to remind you, this was all done shorthanded while I was supposedly on the Power Play and after I had basically dominated the entire game up until that point. Shots were about 35-17 me at this point. 3-2 game me, 30 seconds left. The computer wins the next draw, but I press up and poke check the puck deep into the corner of their zone. Their defenseman and my forward were both chasing the puck, with him getting there just barely before me. I laid a hit on the guy who had just beat me to the puck, and what do you know, they call me for a CHARGING penalty? Are you kidding? CHARGING??? I was legitimately shocked, but not really, because at this point, I knew exactly was about to happen. And then it did. With 25 or so seconds left, now 4 on 4, we have to back to my zone and take a face-off, which I knew I was going to lose. I had lost about 3 face-offs in a row at this point, while the Ice-Tilting was taking place, so I wasn't surprised, I just knew I had to get this puck out of the zone. Long story short, the computer team of course wins the draw, cycles the puck for a good 12 seconds, and pipes and blue line slap-shot bar-down on my 90 overall goaltender. While this wasn't surprising, I am of course going insane because of what just had transpired in the last 45 seconds. This was probably the most unrealistic, bullshit way of making the game close that I had ever seen in my entire life. And this is truly sad to me because NHL has always been a pretty well-made, fun game. To end the story, I still won the game 4-3 in Overtime, but this game has rubbed me the wrong way for the last time. Please EASports take this bullshit Ice-Tilting out of the game. It ruins games and makes players stop playing your games for good. I am just so tired of dealing this and being pissed off while I play a game that is supposed to be fun. I know I am not the only one who has dealt with this, because I looked it up and there were 1000 posts about it. Please do something about this. [link] [comments] |
