- Sometimes the goalies don't rage quit. Drop in game.
- For NHL 22, What do you think about a "face tonface" cover with 2 goalies ? (Obviously, with a bit more effort in the presentation)
- Signed 2 undrafted players in the FA and they’ve turned out just fine...
- Green needs to get a map
- What jersey style is this? (NHL 18)
- BAP Game 7 OT After trailing 3-1 in the series
- Wtf is this?
- Online VS
- How do some online versus players win the majority of faceoffs without setting up on their forehand or backhand before the puck is dropped?

Posted: 14 Jun 2021 07:38 AM PDT I play mostly online versus and I'm normally well above average at faceoffs. I'm aware of the "rock, paper, scissors-like" formula involving the basic backhand/forehand, forehand/backhand stick lift and the tie-up. It also seems like if you're last to set up your forehand/backhand before puck drop you'll lose the draw if you and your opponent pick the same move or moves that are a coin flip. As far as I know the only faceoff move where you don't set up on your forehand or backhand first is the shot or deke right off the draw, and this only works if the other player does nothing, or is a coin flip if they try the same move themselves…so obviously the shot/deke off the draw almost never works and is a terrible idea in the vast majority of situations. All that being said, there have been a handful of times where I've played opponents online who never set their forehand or backhand before the draw, and they still manage to win about 60-70% of the faceoffs against me, no matter what combinations of the normal faceoff moves I try. Either these players know some sort of faceoff hack or my understanding of how faceoffs work in this game is somehow flawed. Does anyone here do this themselves or know what kind of faceoff strategy these people are using, or how to counter it effectively? Thanks. TLDR: Some online versus players win the majority of faceoffs against me without ever setting up on their forehand or backhand before puck drop. How is this possible? [link] [comments] |
