    Even if they didn't focus on a pro story mode like madden or fifa I think a few tiny additions would make the mode more fun.

    1: if they added drill like mini games where the coach said focus on your positioning and it would run you through a drill to help improve your play in a certain area and help gain addition xp for you player

    1. Let me continue be a pro progress in the next game. I can only get through 4 seasons max playing every game before the next installment is released. Then I have to start over. It would be cool to be able to start playing the deeper seasons in a career on a new game if you want that option instead of just starting all over every year.

    2. Add some sponsorship choices. Just like how real pros sign on to a certain equipment brand i.e. Bauer or CCM. It would be fun to have talks with those brands and choose the equipment brand you choose to rep. Then maybe the sponsor adds some optional targets to hit in the season to keep being signed as a player with their equipment company.

    3. I've never made it to the end of a pros entry level contract but I imagine the negotiation process is pretty limited on that end so it would be cool to have little side conversations with your agent with response options on what you're wanting in the next steps of your career.

    4. Just a more detailed performance grading when actually playing a game where it gives better coaching instruction over "I like your play" or "we need a goal" just something like coaching adjustments during the game to counter a teams play style. Or even more detailed coaching for your lines like work puck movement when the forwards just skate it in and do a stupid deke that loses puck possession or just skating up to the goalie and shooting into their chest right when we get into the offensive zone and then turning the puck right back over.

    Just my couple thoughts. Let me know what you guys think or some other stuff to add on top of that.

    Everytime I play VS's I always wonder

    If my team is going to skate like they are on clouds or if they dipped their skates in tar before heading on the ice. My connection is fine. I usually ping 20-30 Ms. So tired of it.

    This game drives me up the wall but I can't stop playing it.

    Just annoying ill have a decent rush and my a.i teammate wont skate up to tge side of.the net. He will stop near the hashmarks and let the defender block him instead of keeping pace with me for the easy 1-T

    Franchise Shareplay?

    Hey everyone! Could anyone tell me if it's possible to play franchise mode through shareplay? I'm able to start shareplay, so my friend can see what I'm doing on the screen. Is there a way for me to give him a controller so we can play offline games together during the season?

    When I try the "play together" button, nhl 20 doesn't show up on the list of games I can start. Is that because it's blocked or something?

    I am the defender in this video and this is one of the reasons I am just grinding for the platinum and I am gone. What's the point of actually trying to play good defense when EA just decides to say "f you" he scores anyways.

    They are the default pads for so many goalies and leagues.

    Don't get me wrong i'm glad they kept the model to add further customisation but goddamit can we get a more realistic default pad there is already some very well established designs in all the brand lines that can act as "brand standards".

    It just feels like they are not trying and are just being lazy. I mean I dont even want them to respect all the "minor" players brand preference but can we make the default pad this years product .

    First I'll supply a little context to my story. My brothers and I have been playing the NHL franchise since the first instalment of the game was available, NHL Hockey on Sega Genesis. It wasn't our first hockey video game, those were Blades of Steel and Ice Hockey on Nintendo but NHL was the first ever licensed game. Even though it was just the teams licensed and not the players (they were identified by number only. ie player 99 was Gretzky) it did not matter. We knew all the player's numbers off by heart anyway. Lol

    In the 29 versions over various consoles we've played since there has been much shit talk about how bad I'd blaze by them with Pat Lafontaine or how'd I'd be the unlucky recipient of a Oates to Hull one-timer if we ever got the chance.

    This year's addition of Alumni teams was definitely a welcome surprise. Even though it wasn't "All-Time Teams" we found we kind of like it that way. It's nice to use some of the obscurer players rather that just All-Stars.

    So, here's where it gets nerdy. Over the long weekend, because of a combination of poor weather and brushing off of other responsibilities this is what I came up with. I found an online alphabetical list of players included on the alumni teams. Then started separating out players who played from the late 80's onward to now. I further sorted after to categories: Forward, Defence, Goal. Based on that criteria I seen I had enough players for 12 teams with a few spares per team. I assigned a number to each player, Aaron Broten was the first player listed for forwards so he was #1 and so on.

    The next step was using a random number sequence generator for each category to decide the makeup of each team. There was somewhere around 190 forwards, 90 dmen, and about 35-40 goalies, I think. Oddly enough the teams balanced naturally not too bad. I adjusted the goalie distribution a bit but nothing crazy. The range of the ratings of the teams is 92 for the best and 85 for the worst. The teams all seem to have distinct styles as well as strengths/weaknesses. Very happy with the way things turned out.

    I added all the players to select ECHL teams. I tried to stick to the middle America cities in hopes of keeping a Field of Dreams - "If you build it they will come." flavour.

    I lucked out and found in plain old Season mode that the National League has 12 teams. I replaced those 12 teams with my newly refined ECHL teams and started simming my inaugural 50 game season.

    For those curious as to how the season is turning out, we are halfway through, Curtis Joseph is putting up crazy numbers, Phil Housley is the leading scorer for dmen, and the best line in the league is Joe Mullen-Bobby Smith-Jaromir Jagr. Mullen is tracking to be MVP with 17-20-37 in 25 GP. Brett Hull leads with 20 goals in 23 games.

    what is this shit

    Situation, i often play online versus. this happens everytime. why the fuck.. so every time the enemy gets an 2vs1 and i try to Switch to the defender, the First movement of the defender is to skate forward so the Opponent got an 2vs0 Situation.
    like the one defender is going backwards and when i Switch to him, he will do steps forward, even though i press the right Buttons on the Pad, to skate backwards. what Kind of garbage ea coding shit is that??....

    I bought the ultimate edition and I swear I've only got 4 packs. I only distinctively remember them hitting my packs two weeks of the 5+ the games been out. I get them in fifa every week...what gives?

    A question regarding roster updates and franchise mode

    I'm wanting to finally take a crack at the franchise mode in 20 but I recall the contract issues from 19 and have heard that I should hold off until the paperwork for new AHLers comes through and they're added.

    However, I'm looking to play as the 32nd expansion team, and in the Default Roster option (since Custom Roster "skips" a year contract-wise, although the rosters are current), so should I wait, or is it a moot point anyway?

    Also, is the only way to add the players added later (Gusev, Fox, etc) to drop them into a custom team and replace one of the standard 31 with it?
