    NHL 20 created players info

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 09:20 PM PDT

    Hey r/EA_NHL,

I did this last year, and I was getting a few requests to see the old Google Doc, so I thought I'd post my updated list.

Obviously some players are still missing from this list AND the game, but after creating 30-odd players, I don't feel like I'm missing anyone super important in Franchise Mode. I think a couple future draft prospects like Savoie and Wright have already been added, but Sheets formatting is already wonky so I didn't want to try edit further.

College players are either on the CHL team that holds their rights or Farjestads in the SHL. That's just the random European team I picked to put players on.

    Here's the Google Docs link.

    Cheers!

Where do the ratings of each player come from? Especially the more obscure minor league teams? Is there a place I could get fan-made ratings for players not in the game?

Clutch goal at end of regulation by Richard Hammond

    Posted: 18 Oct 2019 08:38 AM PDT

What’s the most ridiculous thing you’ve done in an NHL game?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 08:42 PM PDT

Tonight I scored with Khudobin on an empty net to help move my expansion franchise to 19-0-0.

    This brought back old memories..

In NHL 2004, I got a hat trick with Ron Tugnutt. The first goal went through the other goalie's legs. The second and third were empty netters in the last minute.

In NHL 2k3, I was down 5-0 with 1 minute left in the third and I won 6-5 in regulation.

Anybody got any other crazy stories?

Is there a way to have a franchise with more than one custom team?

Any way to see stats in online versus mode?

I would like to see how many goals I score and who scored them if that's possible.

Not a rant but more a few suggestions for Franchise Mode that don't seem like they would be hard to implement.

    1. More freedom with the league setup. If I want to have a league with a fantasy draft with only 10 teams, I should be able to. If I want 50 teams and 100 games, let's do it. Obviously the standard options would be available as well for a normal experience. You could even milk it into two modes basically. 'Sandbox Mode' and 'Franchise Mode.'

    2. Videos of prospects with stats. A scouted D looking good? Give me a little clip of him taking a shot or a pre-generated cookie cutter one timer clip with '92 MPH' on the screen or announced or something. Even if they started to look familiar after a few seasons, the addition would be cool realism.

    3. Instead of the analyst, have a Reddit style board with 'fans' posting things. 'Anyone see that save by Price? Awesome!' - Habs4ever' would be better than the typical stuff from the analyst. This could be further fleshed out pretty easily with adding things like if a team overall is under X but they're going to make the playoffs have a fan post 'Do you really think we can make a deep run with this team?' A little bit of personality behind the posts would go a long way. Bonus points for a generated comment section too. Also big free agent/trade rumors with random players around the league.

    4. A Relegation Mode Franchise. It would be fun to have the fear of getting relegated and having salary cut once going to the Division II NHL (filled with either generated players similar to AHL or free agents or something.) The top 3 teams from the D2 come up with the bottom 3 going down. Salary is cut for Div II so the team must shed accordingly or however they do it. It would be a fun mode in my opinion and the revolving teams would be an interesting way to keep it fresh.

    5. An award ceremony or tribute video at end.

    6. Loud aggressive dog barking audio for 10 seconds that only happens when you either play or sim past season 5 game 67. This would add an element of mystique and the first jumpscare in sports gaming ever.

    Should I get this game?

    Posted: 17 Oct 2019 07:23 PM PDT

I'll try and make this as short as possible. I love sports. I've pretty much mastered the nba mlb and nfl when it comes to just overall knowledge of the game. Hockey is basically the last North American sport I've yet to learn but I'm very interested in doing so. I saw NHL 20 is on a small sale of 44.99 and I'd mainly be playing franchise mode. So coming from never playing a hockey game and knowing a small amount about the sport but ready to learn.... is the game worth buying right now or should I wait for a larger sale?
