    Hey. I got the NHL 20 on recent sale after playing demo version and I really like it. It is annoying and imperfect sometimes but still can give great amount of satisfaction, as I suck at it and winning is hard. I play mainly franchise mode with New Jersey Devils, on Pro level, if I remember correctly, as it is the right amount of challenge for me right now. I adjusted my sliders from some popular template, that make the game more "realistic".

    Now I have few questions. As I said, I suck at the game, only recently started learning the possesion game. I manage to get 30-40 shots, but only few goals. Just had a game with 42 shots and no goals. Probably most of them are shit, but I feel like I got few nice chances, on which I either missed a goal completely, or enemy gk turned on god mode. Thing is, I play on hybrid control and shoot with buttons, I have most fun that way. Is there any way to improve my shooting. I try to aim for open spots and keep this aim till the end, maybe I just should spend more time on training ground.

    Is there anything to do between games? I sent my scouts to explore the world, I manage my lines sometimes and try to find goalie coach, as I messed up at the beggining :D, but mostly it is just simming up to the date of the game and playing it and I feel I might be missing something to have a better franchise experience.

    Sometimes I'm pretty sure my lines are changed even though I didn't make any changes compared to last game. Is there any way to switch that option off (setting the lines automatically by the game)?

    I often experience something like input lag, where I press the pass or shoot button when my player got a puck in cluth situation, he doesn't react, puck gets knocked out of him, my other player gets it and perform the action I put in 3 seconds ago. It sometimes create dangerous chance for the opponent, as I'm already holding different direction on controller. It is really annoying and I was wondering if I'm doing something wrong.

    Is there any way to safely ensure one time shot on rebound using buttons? I try to spam it when puck is loose next to the enemy goal, but sometimes end up with penalty, as the same buttons have some defensive options.

    I'm getting really tired of the same BS every year. Hut is pay to win, New seamless puck pickups and trash "physics" that don't even resemble hockey ex). This years skating backwards meta. The last NHL game that was actually enjoyable was NHL14 (IMO) and that's only because EASHL was at its peak player count, aside from that 2k7 was probably the greatest hockey game made with a good soundtrack, outdoor games, good gameplay and you didn't have to pump your moms credit card in the game to play other game modes and compete. EA just doesn't care about any of their player base because they know all us hockey fans will buy it considering it's the only game on the market for hockey. Look at HUT for god sakes, we already have 91/92 Ovr. Players in November! If that doesn't tell you this game is dying idk what else would. They should either fire rammer who knows clearly nothing about hockey or 2k should make a game or better yet have the MLB the show devs make one.

    Is NHL 20 worth it for someone who hasn't bought a single NHL game on this generation?

    So I used to be a hardcore FIFA gamer until I finally quit because of EA's bullshit and how lackluster their single player modes are. Their clear focus is ultimate team.

    Hockey is my second favourite sport. But I haven't owned an NHL game since last gen NHL 14. The current one is on sale for 50% off. I game share with a friend so we'd both be paying about $20 CDN for the game.

    Is the game worth it for its single player modes? Specifically looking at whatever the manager mode is and the create a player mode. If I do dabble in some online it would strictly just be one vs one.

    Gameplay producer hasn't touched the AI this generation lol. Strategies are still broken, AI teammates can't execute a trap, can't play their position, can't get in the right spot for a breakout, can't keep skating on a 2-on-1 because they're a D and D can't play offense, gotta run back to my spot!!!

    Can't figure out how to get back onside, can't figure out how to support the puck in the offensive zone, can't figure out how to play inside/out when defending the defensive zone, backside dmen still skate into the corner and stare at the glass for no reason, PowerPlay teammates still look like kids with ADHD on speed preventing any nice passing plays from developing.

    Offensive zone when five on five is so painfully static that offense lacks creativity (this one is probably on purpose because the HUT streamers gotta pull of their FILTHY DANGS BRAH). Why when you lose a faceoff on the PP in the offensive zone do your dmen sprint to the red line before the puck is ever out of the zone lol? There's no sense of holding a zone and applying pressure in this game, because the AI on your team are so poorly programmed. Why does the gameplay producer not care about the AI, you know 8 of the ten players in any given HUT game, when he is the gameplay producer lol?

    I mean, there's just absolutely no hockey sense being put into this game. In Ben's defense, you actually have to care/touch the AI once in-order to improve it, and god knows that hasn't happened.

    Can we please get fresh blood for the next time this game is "built from the ground up" (just ignore the blatantly obvious legacy AI scripted plays, mannerisms, animations, super boosts, etc) so we can actually get an enjoyable offline experience for the first time in seven years? I'm not asking for a miracle. I understand you need specifically programmed AI as we're light years away from intelligent CPU opponents in NHL, but can we at least update that list of programmed mannerisms to somewhat represent hockey?

    As cool as watching the CPU whip three cross-rink, 80-foot touch passes on the PK to setup the dump is, I'd like to see a little more believable gameplay/decision making. I mean, the 1-4 trap already has the strong-side wing programmed to sprint across the ice and completely abandon their position for no reason off of a center ice faceoff (since NHL 13 or so) so I think it's not too much to ask for them to fix that awful programming right?

    Can we also fix the backside AI dman from staring into the glass in the corner too? Can we also make the AI teammates actually skate around and make cuts like real hockey players too rather than sit completely still while apparently trying to score a goal? As believable as "cycling" is when everyone stands still or occasionally switches positions along the boards is, it would be cool to see someone actually drive the net.

    I haven't even dove into the awful new shooting animations, the fact that one-timer aiming is broken this year, goalies being ridiculously good or bad depending on the day, puck physics still being laughable at best.

    This is what sports games are now huh? This dumpster fire of a game is considered AAA quality huh? Thanks HUT idiots for continuing to reward incompetence. Brain-dead AI and awful legacy code sure is fun to play with.

    Is it just me

    Is it just me... or is franchise mode (non sim) a real controller killer?

    I have, in the last 2 years, gone through like... 7 controllers through playing franchise mode. The left stick always gets all chewed up and gives out after a couple of months. Then you decide... less speed burst and be careful how hard you're pressing buttons... doesn't matter. I have had this controller for probably 2 months now... and I'm REALLY babying it... doesn't matter. Even tried playing with zero burst... then you can't win because you're too slow haha... be a pro is fine, you can essentially coast for 75% of your career.

    NHL 20 CAT

    When creating a team in nhl 20 is it possible to pull up existing nhl team colors? I know you could do it back in nhl 18. There were certain colors I liked using for my Quebec and my Alaska Aces teams.

    No helmet in be a pro? why have ea not made a option

    does anyone else want to be able to not use a helmet in be a pro. I know its not realistic, but you can choose not to wear a face guard which every new player has to do as of 2013. and i would like to be a goal scorer while looking like guy lafluer or a enforcer while looking a fotiu or gillies. and in a fight your helmet can fly off so why can EA put in a option when editing your helmet style to have none.
