    I've always been a fan of Franchise Mode but it was disappointing to make it 10+ years into an expansion team's existence and not have any idea of who held scoring records, etc.

    I can't remember who shared the original template (sorry!) but I tracked everything that happened to my expansion team in this edited Google Doc (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1TWMjD6uL7rELedL-xhFpUHp5w2I1zF1CQo5LBwr0jo0/edit?usp=sharing) - it's the complete history of the Halifax Renegades, from 2019-2043.

    Some notes:

    • The save starts with NHL19's first roster, so (unfortunately) there are a few inaccuracies (Tavares is still an Islander)
    • Detroit was moved from the Eastern to the Western Conference in this universe
    • Halifax dominated most of the 25 year stretch, winning 11 cups and a bunch of hardware
    • Gretzky's goal record was broken by Austin Von Fersen, a high-elite centre drafted in 2021
    • Terry McPherson (goalie drafted in 2021) becomes the second goalie to reach 600+ wins

    Anyway this was an ongoing project that added to the fun of Franchise Mode and I feel like an insane person now that it's done. Why not share the insanity with you.

    What Is with NHL 20 and being so 1 sided?

    I've played Hockey and the NHL series all my life, and never have I seen such a one sided game. One game my friends and I could be outplaying the other team(we had 17 shots from the slot and other high scoring areas) yet we only scored one. They had 7 shots...all came in on the rush and were from the blue line/top of the circle and they scored 3 of them.

    Then you have incidents like this that really make me wonder what this game franchise has come to

    Best way to do an ”expansion" mode?

    So it's been a couple of years since I last played NHL, but I just got a PS4 so I can finally get back to it. But I haven't started yet because I'm distracted by Spider-Man.

    I used to love rebuilding franchises in Franchise mode, and my favorite way to do it was a short of make-shift expansion mode. First I'd take the roster of the worst team in the league (ideally one without any young stars, and minimal high-end veterans). Then I'd sub out all their players for the dregs of the free agency pool so all the team's players were UFAs. Then I'd create a team and swap with the real team to start the franchise mode. I'd usually include a few decent vets, as any expansion team would have, to help load up on picks.

    Is all this still doable? Is there a better way to do the same sort of thing now?

    Good TWF ones build?

    Struggling to find a decent TWF build. I play other TWFs in ones and it seems like they can play more physical, like a PWF or ENF, but my build seems squishy like a sniper or dangler. 6'2" 205 quick wrister 2, brute strength 2, and marathon.

    [Question] Expansion drafts with friends?

    I know this is a long shot, but I'm picking the game up after playing some of it last week (long time NHL and hockey game player), I have a couple of friends that I'm going to play with and I had a semi-cool idea of creating an expansion team of each one of us but I was trying to figure out how I would go about doing so.

    If I abandoned hope, setup a fantasy draft with three new teams (or replacing current ones), would I be able to setup a somewhat complicated fantasy draft and share the rosters with them?

    Just bought the game for myself as a late birthday gift. I mostly played be a GM and Eashl in 18, skipped 19, but I'm open to any non-hut game mode. Any tips? XB1

    More context, I played nhl 12 and 13 heavily, when I finished 12 I was the 99th ranked goalie in club. I also played a lot of quick matches online in 13 to a decent, but not amazing, record.

    NHL 20 Threes Eliminator Matchmaking Busted

    My friends and I would be matchmaking into an Eliminator match just for it to have me still "matchmaking" while friends have a game already found or vice versa. Extremely frustrating as I have to constantly forfeit tournaments.

    Anyone else having this issue? It seems that it does it when players back out prior the game starting and the going into the "Play Next Game" option.

    Fucking seriously. "New" old features rebranded and copy pasted from old game modes. AI picks off passes without looking and barely in reach. Protecting the puck does jack shit unless it's an AI. Fucking superhuman bullshit. Every. Fucking. Pokecheck. Is a fucking penalty. Where the fuck is the skill in that? Just running into people? Seriously? Hockey is way more than just hitting to cause turnovers. Then fucking players can't pick up pucks in their own fucking skates infront of the net?

    This game is absolute horse shit and I look forward to uninstalling, returning the game and never dealing with this awful franchise again. Bring 2K the fuck back.

    Lag costing many HUT games and is very annoying

    I get at least 2 of these lag spikes every game, which causes about 1-2 seconds of input delay until the next stoppage, this makes the game unplayable and the opponent often scores when it happens, I have very good internet and live near Toronto, not in the middle of nowhere. This costed me 2 games where they scored 2 goals cause of my lag and I only lost by 1. This is also happening to a lot of my friends so it's not just me, this really needs to be fixed BAD!
