    Dear EASHL Drop-In Players

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 09:37 PM PST

DO NOT. I repeat. PLEASE DO NOT choose defense, if you aren't actually going to play defense. Just...pick a forward. There's no reason for you to choose defense, then cherry pick all game. Yes. You scored two goals. Too bad because you didn't play defense, and tried to leave me, a winger using a sniper class, to defend, we still lost. By a lot.

Play defense, or choose a forward. Don't choose defense, then stop skating when you hit the blueline. I will not pass it to you. I will not be able to cover for you all game. I can't play my position and yours. Just. Choose. A. Forward.
People like you ruin the game, and are the reason I didn't play online for 2 years.
I don't care how well you can score. You CHOSE defense. You can't just ignore defending. Especially in 3v3. Defense is even more important.

    Just....play your position. Please.

5 Things that would immediately make this game better

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 10:30 AM PST

    1. Remove all the stupid perspectives of fans and players and just show. the damn. goal replay.
    2. Bring back first person fighting, give back energy based on who actually landed the most, not who 'won' the fight.
    3. Remove HUT. Yup
    4. Remove the Ref's ability to call icing before the player touches the puck
    5. Remove HUT

    Game Mode Connection Types

    Posted: 03 Jan 2020 06:11 AM PST

Does anyone know what the connection type for each game mode is? I believe last year they changed FUT to servers and online H2H remained P2P. What about NHL Threes online? Google was not helpful and was hoping the NHL community may have come across this info.

What's your favorite EA NHL intro?

Mine will forever be NHL 99. The video with David Bowie's Heroes gives me goosebumps.

Elite potential players only develop until they're 21-22 and it's really frustrating

I spend more time looking at this screen then I do actually playing a game. I’m sorry but this is awful how hard it is to connect to a game.

NHL 20 be a pro does starting age affect your overall rating?

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 05:29 PM PST

In be a pro for NHL 20 if I start as a 16 year old and play my way through 2 seasons of junior before being drafted will that allow my player to have a higher overall stat going into the NHL? Or does the game start you at a higher overall if you start with the memorial Cup vs lower overall starting as 16 yr old in junior. I want to give my player longer to develop before I am playing 2nd line as a 70 overall.

Newbie having trouble moving to Pro difficulty

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 04:28 PM PST

I'm sure there have been plenty of posts like this, so I apologize. I'm a hockey newbie in general. First season really watching full games on tv and definitely first season playing an EA NHL game. I've learned a lot about the rules of the game and strategies in the past several months.

I'm currently playing a Franchise with the Bruins. I started on Semi-Pro and got to the point where I've been winning most games pretty easily. I decided to move up to Pro on the lowest Preset (Arcade I think?)... and suddenly I'm getting my a** handed to me. The CPU is executing passes like I'm a Pee-Wee team. On breakaways, suddenly my goalie is leaving wide open holes that the CPU has no problem putting the puck into. When I'm on offense, they are on me like flies on s*** and damn near every pass I make gets picked off. I can rarely get good passes to any of my players near the goal and most shots I take are easily blocked by the goalie or traffic in front of the goal.

    Help?

Considering buying 19 or 20 after a few years off

    Posted: 02 Jan 2020 09:14 PM PST

The last nhl game I played was 17 and I only played about 15-20 online games total. I lost interest after about 10 years of games and online play dwindling down from over 1000 games in a year 10 years ago.

I'm thinking of getting a newer one but I'm not sure 20 is worth it when used copies are still almost as much as new. NHL 19 used is $20 at GameStop. Is there enough new stuff in 20 or would you just go with 19?
