Dive block tripping penalty in NHL

My favorite feature in NHL 20

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 05:15 AM PST

The fact that we can see in the players' stat line where we can see where the player had played every year and also lists the NHL points totals. Wasn't there in previous iterations.

    Had me tinkled pink.

Remembered why I don't play Online VS anymore

    Posted: 21 Feb 2020 06:58 AM PST

Figured I'd test my skills online for a few games, as I mostly play offline. I'm about 20 games in and jesus christ is it ever broken. I think I'm 15-5 or 14-6 so I'm not being salty, it's just not that fun. There's always going to be one timer hounds but this new evolution of people skating around behind their net to kill time, defensive AI lapses.. and seemingly 100% effective breakaway dekes is pretty frustrating.

How do you defend properly online to avoid this cheese? Either you give the shooter too much space or you try to cover the cross crease pass or you take a penalty... Dive to block? tripping penalty. Poke a leg? Penalty. Rough up the guy waiting for the one timer? Penalty. To win games you have to wind around in circles unrealistically to avoid people while waiting for the AI to do something dumb. Over 50% of the games I've played are just a race to see who can score more repetitive cross crease goals. Last night I won one 8-7 and lost another 9-8. So reddit, what am I doing wrong. What's the secret to shutting down the game-gamers on defence and what's the strategy to get the puck back as they circle their own net?

    Ice tilt?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 01:42 PM PST

So my guys are decent, usually have good speed and connecting on the one timers... and this game they can barely connect solid passes, much less skate fast or shoot on target. Is that what the term ice tilt means?

    Looking for an explanation

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 10:24 PM PST

I have been playing NHL since 19' and now playing on 20. Reason for my post is a question as to why the AI on 3's eliminatior thinks a board pass is a good pass. It usually ends with the other team getting the puck or it not being able to reach me. I just started watching actual hockey and to my knowledge in that situation the board pass doesn't seem like a high percentage pass. Is there any way to turn it off?

    Forgive my bad grammar

    Screening the Goalie

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 04:01 PM PST

Me and my friends are having a debate as to whether or not you can actually stand in front of the goalie and screen him and actually have it work. So can I go a big guy, stand in front of the goalie, and it actually make him have a worse vision so my friends can score?

Why does my team keep losing?

    Posted: 20 Feb 2020 04:28 PM PST

So my franchise mode team keeps losing a lot of games and missing the playoffs/getting beat in the first round even though I have a good roster and Champion status. I tried hiring different coaches and changing strategies but barely anything changed. Does anyone know why this is?
