Is there any way to report players? Posted: 22 Feb 2020 07:44 AM PST Just played a drop in with a player who's username I would post but I think it's against the rules who spent the game carrying the puck into our zone and dumping the puck into the crowd to give the opposition a penalty shot. New to the game, joining friends as a defenseman on their CHEL club team Posted: 22 Feb 2020 09:48 AM PST Ive never played NHL before, and haven't played video games consistently ever. Just bought an Xbox One last Thursday. Playing 3v3 drop-in to get better (I am a Level 42 player on NHL 20) but am frustrated figuring out what my team wants from me. I usually play with a 6'2, 205lbs. Two Way Defenseman with Laser Passing 2, Good Stick 2, and Stretch Passing. My intent being to play solid, conservative defense and spring my forwards on counter attacks. How I play in the offensive zone: I sit on the blue line and flow from board to board always being a passing outlet but try to always be mindful of my defensive responsibilities and try not to let anyone behind me. I'll go for loose pucks that I think I have a 95% chance of getting otherwise I'll fall back to the neutral zone. If everyone is down low, I'll slide into the high slot for a one time or wrist shot. The problem with this is I rarely score from here so I'm a potential defensive liability for no real net offensive gain. Offensive Transition: I look first to facilitate to a forward, but if no one is free I'll either push the puck up myself or go laterally looking to open someone up. I hate bringing the puck too far in because I feel like it's my fault if our opponent gets a breakaway the other way (I know it's a team effort and a forward needs to rotate back) but again, there's not a whole lot of offensive benefit because I can't score well at all. Defensive Zone: I sit in the low slot and protect the backside one time. I'm working to pick up guys higher in the slot when no one is behind me, but I hate getting beat back down. It's basically an auto-goal. I rarely leave there to check or pick up guys on the wings. I do chase loose pucks that I can get and will check guys below the goal line if I think me team has my back in the slot. Defensive Transition: If I'm defending a 2v1, I almost exclusively take the backside one-timer away. Some guys can snipe on me, but it's much lower percentage than the backside. If it's a 2v2, I'll even usually also take the backside guy and hope the forward pressures the puck (this could be a mistake on my part). My overall defensive goal is protect backside first and anywhere in the low slot 2nd. If anyone has any feedback on my philosophy, please let me know! I want to get better but get some rude messages from guys saying I don't play my position correctly either not being more of an offensive option, or when I do try to stretch myself offensively that I suck as a defender. Any and all constructive criticism, hate, or shit talking welcome! 🤣 [link] [comments] |
EA NHL can sometimes be such a meme it's annoying Posted: 22 Feb 2020 10:52 AM PST I don't really play online since I'm very much casual and have no time to fight against tryhards who never pass, so I play Be a Pro, get drafted first overall by the Red Wings in the hardest difficulty, get injured at about game 70 with a concussion, out for 50+ days, we're 2nd in the NHL entering the playoffs and I was about to pass Ovi as the leading scorer in the league when I'm injured. Surely the Red Wings in game aren't as bad as they are IRL right? Nope, they lose the first round. All that work, get injured, lose the first round. Kill me. [link] [comments] |
Would you play an NHL 94 Remake? Posted: 21 Feb 2020 02:50 PM PST If they could come to other markets such as PC and the Nintendo Switch. I'd play the shit out of a remake if they came to the Nintendo Switch. It's a huge market where I'm sure there are a ton of NHL fans. EA NHL needs to capitalize on the handheld market and just Nintendo in general is a huge company. EA NHL has to have a better marketing team so does the NHL in general I get it. But one way to capitalize on a market is to look at that company's success EA and NHL's biggest success as pair was EA NHL 94 yes a classic (One that was on the Super Nintendo btw). Why not remake the classic with updated graphics, the stick technology/ the best technology they can use and bring it to Nintendo and PC? And don't take out the gimmicks that people loved about the game. Keep the same rosters, That's how EA NHL should reintroduce themselves to these markets maybe make more gimmicks like giant heads or something. Make the game fun and a gimmick and playable online, make it the same music, same rules, every hits counts, same sound effects, same silly ref camera just make it fun like the Nintendo version can have the Nintendo characters in it. There needs to be a fun NHL game again because the game right now is too skilled people take it too seriously they try to make it to"realistic" but remember when games weren't "realistic"? They were fun as hell! Guarantee you that's how EA NHL as a sub-market would make a good profit. Every EA NHL after that they can go back to whatever theyr'e doing but man just capitalize on your success already that was NHL 94! /Rant. [link] [comments] |

3 small additions/improvements you'd like to see in NHL Posted: 21 Feb 2020 01:47 PM PST Just pondering a bit when I playing NHL 20, there are some small things that I would love to see that would make a huge difference or at least to me it would. I would love to see a Franchise award tracker where it tracks all the Cups and President trophies that each Franchise has won. It should also show the coaches and players that were on the team at that time of each cup and President trophy wins. 2nd thing I would like to see is similar to the first but for players, in their stats it should show all the trophies and Cups that they've won with what team and season. Lastly position changing to and from defenseman & forward, I would love to do a Brent Burns or Byfuglien where I can switch my players from a forward to a Dman and vice versa. What would you want to see? [link] [comments] |

Threes Eliminator Team Advanced Without Me Posted: 21 Feb 2020 01:37 PM PST Played a game with one other guy in the Threes Eliminator and won. I went to play the next game and I guess he chose to continue without me, and I got a message that because he chose to do so, I had to forfeit the tournament. What the heck!?! I won that game, I should get put with someone else! [link] [comments] |
