How does the GM/coach algorithm determine "best lines"? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 07:57 AM PDT I ask because it doesn't seem to take chemistry into account. I have an injury, Best Lines. I think my forward lines have one +1 and the rest are 0. With some very minor tinkering, every line is a +1 and one is a +3. Seems weird this feature wouldn't take chemistry into account. It didn't seem to be a straight slotting by overall either. Using my Red Wings franchise as an example it was putting Veleno at 84 ovr as 4th line center with an 81 at 2C and an 83 at 3C. Does it look at roles maybe? Ex. 3rd line chk center, other F, etc [link] [comments] |
So when the hell is this game getting announced/reveal ??? Posted: 29 Jun 2020 09:21 AM PDT Yeah I get that COVID fucked everything over for everyone, but I thought if they don't announce it at EA Play 2 weeks ago then maybe a small trailer would have been released during the NHL draft lottery seeing that it was the only televised NHL event we had since March or possibly still have until August, when the first games are played, if they are even being played. So is this game in development hell as they try to release it for next gen consoles as well. Did COVID really fuck them in terms of development? What's going on? This shit comes out 3 months and not even a single indication of it being existing. Usually we have a demo/beta by now. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 28 Jun 2020 05:10 PM PDT I know it's not a super popular feature that gets looked at but one of the most important things to me in these games is having the players likeness actually look like them. I struggle to have a team made up of real life guys that look like generic potatoes on skates and usually tend to build the majority of my roster around those that are actually scanned. It really upsets me that guys like Makar and Hughes (Quinn) never had their likeness updated at all throughout the lifespan of NHL 20, and now we're just a few months away from NHL 21. Casey Mittelstadt, Brandon Gormley, and Jeremy Bracco are all important enough for a scan but the top 2 rookies and eventual Calder winner isn't? Really hope one of the things EA focuses on for 21 is more face scans. [link] [comments] |
Do you think these are noob strategies? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 11:13 PM PDT I beat someone in online versus today and after the game he sends me a salty message telling me I'm a pussy for using "noob strats." I've been using these strategies for years and am curious if anyone else thinks they are noobish: Forecheck: 1-2-2 passive Neutral Zone: 1-3-1 Offensive pressure and forecheck both balanced Defense: Collapsing and contain puck [link] [comments] |
Posted: 28 Jun 2020 05:32 PM PDT I've been playing NHL 19 BAP on and off for a year or so now and have never seen any rhyme or reason to the amount of training hours I've received per week. I've had weeks, usually near the beginning of seasons, where I've had 15 -19 hours, hell, even 21 a few times. I've also had weeks where I get as few as 5. I'm on my third year in the OHL, am 88 overall with a third of the season to go. So I've reached a point where I hit X through the first period no matter what. Then keep hitting X if winning, sim at 8x speed if it's tied or we're down by only one goal, or jump in if we're losing. Again, since I'm the highest rated player in the OHL I end up simming a lot of the season. Honestly, was just going to max my guy out for shits and giggles playing 3 seasons in the OHL but the novelty wore off midway through the second season, even with 3 minute periods. Anyhoo, the last 3 or 4 weeks I've been getting absurdly low numbers of training hours with a new personal worst of 2 this week. Part of it is the coach insisting on using 5 hours for a laughably small bump to wrist shot power. Still, I had more training hours a few weeks prior when i managed to sim every game than this week when I played roughly half the possible minutes. This is my first hockey game since Blades of Steel, so I'm only playing at pro level with ai learning, adjustments, and the other thing at 6. Just in case somebody wants to scoff at my abuse of the system in a single player mode. Not that it really matters. Tl;dr: Is there some formula for training hours related to playing time, achievements, etc.? Or is it just random? The hours seemed to fluctuate wildly when I played every miniute of every game in my first year, too. And they're pretty variable in my two offseasons as well. Thanks for any help, folks. FWIW, despite the glaring and understandable issues with BAP everyone mentions I have more fun with it than every other career mode. I guess it's a familiarity breeds contempt thing as I've ground the career modes in Madden, The Show, and NBA2K to death over the years, whereas hockey is still a novelty. [link] [comments] |

CHEL pro-am challenges complete! Posted: 28 Jun 2020 04:54 PM PDT |
Posted: 28 Jun 2020 02:31 PM PDT I swear I've never played anything that you can dominate somebody in every aspect and still lose 4-0. This game is so frustrating yet for some reason I keep coming back. I'll take a double cheeseburger with fries please. [link] [comments] |
Losing every faceoff in Chel glitch? Posted: 28 Jun 2020 01:20 PM PDT The last couple World of Chel sessions with my club we have lost every single faceoff ... every single one. We haven't won a faceoff in days. We've all tried being center and none of us can win. Sometimes our opponent isn't even ready for the faceoff and we still lose. This has to be some sort of glitch or error with our club right? Has anyone else ever experienced this? I'd say we are usually 50/50 on faceoffs before this happened and we're very experienced World of Chel players (Division 1). This obviously makes World of chel unplayable. We've won some games despite it but we've lost games completely because of it. We'll dominate but still lose because we have to start on defense every single time. We've tried every faceoff and messed with our edit builds and everything. As of now, we've given up playing and trying to figure it out. [link] [comments] |
