Help bring EA's NHL to X Cloud Gaming Beta

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 11:59 AM PDT

The X Cloud Gaming Beta is out. Anyone who has been invited should submit feedback requesting NHL to the cloud gaming platform. This may be our best chance of playing the latest titles directly on PC!

My suggestions for future EA NHL series games.

    Posted: 27 Apr 2021 12:22 AM PDT

My suggestions for future EA NHL series games I hope they can add improvement. Here they are below:

    Game Modes:

    Be A Pro:

    - Let us have the ability to play a full career again in the junior/Euro leagues, and be able to be sent down from the NHL to AHL.

    - Let us play the All-star

    - Have a pick an Agent finder, which could help with trade/contracts.

    - When reaching a milestone, you either get a HUT pack or coins that go towards building your HUT team.

    EASHL:

    - Implement a free agent finder, so clubs can search through the database and find players for their club. Kind of similar to in Franchise mode when scouting for players for the draft!

    - Add an E-Sports league, where clubs can join and battle in tournaments

    - Club locater option! Have divisions, like West, Central, East, etc. and give the option to search active online clubs in those divisions to challenge.

    - Trolls who grief, should get timed out for 2 minutes before being able to enter another lobby " too many bans them for 3 days "

    - Bring back community lobbies, so us night owls can find games by searching the lobbies.

    - Give us the option to choose between indoor/outdoor drop-in. Example: Indoor/Competitive w/ hockey gear and the ability to select teams from different leagues Outdoor/Casual w/ casual clothing.

    - Probably the biggest one of all! Let us be able to change position after choosing our main during the game lobby in case someone backs out of that position! Would definitely help with having to jump lobby to lobby to get a game.

    - When reaching a milestone with your player, you get a free HUT item! Also as you play games you gain coins just for playing

    Franchise mode:

    - Fix player growth and ability

    - Add create a coach ( would be sick to be able to put myself on the bench )

    - This was from NHL 2004 I believe. But bring back the GM office customization

    - Add player suspensions/fines

    - Add the All Star game ( playable )

    Online versus:

    - Dedicated servers!

    - Gain HUT coins for playing

    Hockey Ultimate Team:

    - Add casual online seasons ( not everyone wants to play HUT Rivals )

    - Give Hut Rivals a Leaderboard

    - If the game disconnects before the game starts, shouldn't count as a loss or win for the opponent

    - Give more incentives, like a free HUT pack every 2 or 3 months.

    - Add the HUT builder into this mode! Would do wonders for us!

Now lets talk the big one! Gameplay!

    A.I. Physics:

    - For the most part the forwards are good, although some improvements can be made! My concern is more on the defensive and goaltending side of things! Often defensemen like to chase the puck carrier, rather than position themselves within their check. They will also in the defensive zone be more concerned looking for their position, rather than actually playing it. Therefore opponents can catch on and cross-crease or short side is vulnerable.

As for goalies. They need to be better! An 83 Ben Bishop is currently the best goalie in this game right now for some reason. But an 88 overall or higher can get scored on by the cross-crease or short side goals.

Now lets talk about the exploits! GWC brought the worst for this!

    1. Figure skate with the puck, and lure a tripping call or force the defensemen or forwards to walk past the puck due to the animation it gives. When I played defense as captain on my teams, usually puck control was a lot tougher to do IRL because of back skating! You glided too much, the puck got loose!

    2. Self sauce! This one can be easy to stop if you get it in the neutral zone, before your opponent hits the blueline. What was notified was that often times when this exploit is used the player decides to pivot, to find position, and gets caught in an animation. That is why it might seem like a speed-boost, when clearly it is just the game physics getting confused in the C++ programming.

    3. This has been such a common one lately and it drives me nuts! There is an exploit somewhere below the circle in the offensive zone where the goalie doesn't hug the post, like they should. It's a weird angle shot that seems to work most of the time.

    4. Faceoff loss one-timer shot. This one makes me want to never play this game again. It happens way too often! Players will have an aggressive faceoff, pass it to the wingman and it goes it. Goalies should save it once in awhile to be honest!

    5. Short side from the blocker or glove. For some reason in previous years you could barely score on the glove side, therefore it was easier for defensemen to position themselves and block that shot. What happens in NHL 21, is the goalies don't react quick enough, often will go butterfly and let the puck go into the net.

    6. Cross crease! I remember a time when cross-crease was difficult to score! NHL 20, goalies would save it 96% of the time, and AI defense stayed within their position. I was an active EASHL LD and played many games of NHL 20 where my RD AI would help out, while I defended short side and cross-crease. Now they don't do that, and instead chase the puck carrier or look spent more time finding their position rather than playing it. Seems as if goalies don't react fast enough. Often they do the spread eagle, then pivot to the opposing side of the net where the shot is going.

This is so far all I could come up with! With NHL 21 going downhill fast, with many streamers/content creators fed up, I'm hoping NHL 22 can bring some light into this downfall of an EA NHL series game. Feel free to add more suggestions!

Does anyone know how to get rid of this? I go to accessibility, but it says to change my region, but that *IS* my region.

I always outshoot the CPU by 30 in franchise, and can't find sliders that work for keeping the game fair but challenging. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi, I do not have the reverse retro jerseys in my game. My game and console are both up to date. I am on Xbox one. Also does anybody know how to contact EA Sports? Thank you!
