    Franchise mode, chel20. There's a guy in the 4th round of the upcoming draft. He's been scouted 5 times. He's rated as both a bust and a scouts recommendation, but they've revealed absolutely nothing about his attributes. I have an A- scouting team with 4 scouts in his league all year. I think some of them must be secret double agents trying to undermine me.

    Also it'd be great if, 25 years into this franchise, we didn't have to put up with simple shit like "sorting things the wrong way will cause your game to crash".

    Also it'd be great if I could include a screenshot but EA apparently decided that a lost network connection was a good reason to dump you out of a solo offline single player franchise mode game, so I haven't bothered to plug the cable back in.

    It just blows my mind how we're so many years in and there's still all this inconsistent UI and dumb easily fixable bugs. I've run IT departments and projects and i know how hard it can be sometimes but this is basic level shit bugs that EA should be straight up ashamed is in their product.

    Mostly for the crashing, I just think the scouting thing is goofy fun.

    Anyways, off to manually count every single player in my organization because if you go over 90 the game will just randomly drop players, be they recent 2nd round picks or actual contracts, without telling you. And also there's nowhere that shows a count. And also the dumped players sometimes "get lost" for a year and stop showing up on the FA list even though you can search them.

    Seriously. Fuckin' embarrassing.

    Thank god I didn't pay a cent for NHL 21. I mean it is as fun as any of the previous hockey games but sometimes I just wonder, what's the point?

    Currently doing an expansion team FM. I felt like I really had the right team, pretty even spread across the board and stacked goalie wise. Nope. First game against Pittsburgh, got thrashed.

    Nothing better than watching the puck stick to the opposing forwards sticks even when I poke it away or lift their sticks. Just goes straight back to em.

    Nothing better than watching my 88 OVR goalie come very far out of the crease so that he can let them pound in one-timers. Love watching him commit as Crosby comes out of nowhere to net a hatty.

    Nothing better than seeing that the other team is built up of speed demons. Can't get past them but their forwards blow past my guys with ease. Can't even hit them, they just slide on past.

    I feel like I'd be happier having a Dutch woman beat my balls with a paddle for 15 minutes at €80.

    My friend and I like to play NHL 21 against the computers, but it is inevitably a frustrating experience. We play on All-Star and it's not like we get blown out every game but it is very difficult. Pro is a joke so I was wondering if people have sliders that they play on that are better and make it feel like real hockey? Whenever we play it always plays out the same where the only ways we can score is by skating around the defenseman for a 2 on 1 and then scoring on a cross crease. It gets old fast. If anyone has sliders that are good you will save us a lot of headache.

    The community will kill this franchise

    For all the shit EA gets for the flaws in the game, their biggest deficiency is in moderating.

    Even if you put up with cheese goals physics issues, you're left with an online community of puck-raggers, AFK's and rage quits. The last one shouldn't necessarily be punished, at least in 1v1 games, and yet it's the only that is punished. I go up 4-0, the guy puts his controller down, I quit because it's the 2nd period and I'm trying to have fun, and I get hit with a penalty for quitting.

    I understand that the market is limited but that should mean that there's less to moderate, right? So would it really be impossible to have system in place where you can flag a player for puck-ragging or going AFK, in which case it should take like 10 seconds to pull up the data from that specific time in the match and see if it's accurate? Include a rule where two false reports within 30 days results in a ban or removes the option to report for 30 days or something.

    I just came back to this game after like 3 months and after 5 versus games I'm already sick of it because three of them ended like this. Little by little it results in people giving up on the franchise and the % of toxic players being even higher.

    14-0-1 as a 18 year old rookie. Coach: You're trash.

    I lost 2-1 in a shootout. Just to get a text saying I'm not playing good enough. 14-0-1 as a rookie goalie, 18 years of age, 93% save percentage, and allowing 1.6 goals per game. I don't get it man. How can one company singlehandedly funk every sport it lays its hands on. I am honestly shocked how bad this is, and how they're still confused at the hate they get.

    14-0-1 and they have the nerve to say that? In what world is that even close to logical? Best part and most important part for anybody reading this and wanting to be a rookie goalie, DONT take any star shit until you're a starter. The game doesn't realize you're the backup goalie so if you have to get a shutout in your next two games and you sim the first two as you're not playing, IT COUNTS AGAINST YOU. Its stupid I know, but ya know what they say...

    Jersey selection when in online game with friends

    Does anyone know why when you're in a online game against a friend you can't pick away jerseys when your home team and vice versa? I understand why you can't in a game VS randoms but not in a "private" game.

    How am I supposed to win 2 of the next 4 games when I'm forced to sim them all because I'm "not starting tonight"?

    Is NHL 21 not free with EA Play?

    I played about 2 hours of the trial and decided to wait until it is free with EA Play. Now, I downloaded the game again and the game locked me out after I played the rest of the 10 hours. I could not get it to work, so I uninstalled it and wanted to download it again, but the only option now is to buy it. Every other EA Play game I can download just fine. (PS4)
