    I love this game

My favorite thing to do are cross-crease one-timers and protect the puck until the opponents AI leaves a guy open in front of the net. I also love playing drop in hockey, you'll recognize my unique character design because he has really dark skin and bleached blonde cornrows (my friends from Alberta think it looks hilarious) and I spam the pass button all game.

I can't wait for next year's game. I hope they don't change it too much (if at all).

Hit me up for a 1v1! But be warned, I will spam your inbox with homophobic slurs if I lose.

EA’s invisible force moving Saros out of the way so St. Louis can get a free goal.

    Coach likeness

Maybe I'm the only one, but I wonder if it's ever going to be in the works for the coaches to look like the real coaches. It kind of annoys me that they are still generic while the players are so realistic.

r/EASHL Community Nights: Any interest in bringing back Community Draft Lobby games (aka Reddit OTP Nights)? Looking for player feedback and/or volunteers to help organize games (link to quick survey in the post).

    Posted: 20 Jun 2021 03:54 PM PDT

For anyone that's unaware, members of r/EA_NHL used to organize Reddit OTP NIghts back in the day. It was one night during the week where draft style lobbies were made and private matches were set up between players from the community that made themselves available to play.

These games were open to anyone - of any skill level or rank - just so long as you took the game serious enough to try and not troll, glitch, or engage in any toxic attitude or behavior. There was no commitment other than if you started a game you were expected to finish it.
The format made for some fun and competitive hockey games and also served as a good learning tool for new, inexperienced players.

I'd really like to start doing these again. I think they could be a fun alternative and middle ground between the random cluelessness (and toxicity) of drop-in and the sweaty competitiveness of club/league play.

Right now, my goal is to set up and run these games through Discord. Announcement posts would be made on the r/EASHL and r/EA_NHL subreddits to advertise and recruit, but Discord would be the primary tool used to organize everything.
From there, teams can draft, party up, and join private pin games to play against each other. Those that volunteer and are selected to help organize these games would be their team's "Captain", and will select their teams and coordinate with the other captain to start the games.

I'm open to having these game nights be as flexible and casual, or as organized and competitive as people want. Anything from drafting new teams each game to small nightly or weekend tournaments.
I'm including a link to a brief survey (at the bottom of this post) to get feedback and gauge interest for doing these community nights. Once I go through the feedback, I'll update with another post outlining any specifics.

One of my biggest hurdles in bringing this to fruition is my own availability.
So if anyone would like to help me organize this, please let me know (there's a spot in the survey for this or comment below).
I would definitely need someone on the Xbox side of things, but the more people willing to help out on either console, the better.

Hopefully, this gets some interest and turns into a positive and fun outlet for the EASHL community. I would love to get the ball rolling on this shortly to close out the NHL 21 season and keep it going throughout NHL 22 and beyond.

If you're interested in participating (as either just a player or to help organize and be a team captain on game nights), please take a few minutes to answer some questions on this short survey:
