My franchise mode pretty much ended in year 2029 with Anaheim suddenly owning all 15 top picks. When the draft came up the game froze. Has anyone else had this happen?

Looking for a club (new to EASHL); located in CST
NHL 20 is the first hockey game I’ve played since NHL 08 (barely even played that), and while I understand the mechanics it’s still pretty difficult for me. What tips can you give me to play better, other than just keep practicing?
Did EA nerf goalies in the new update?
Strategy to get breakaways?

So I'm by no means new to hockey (played high level juniors), but I'm new to EASHL, relatively speaking. Play LW preferably, available most nights after 18:30 Central Standard Time. Gamertag is bvoss5 on PSN.

Did EA nerf goalies in the new update?

I have been playing the new update for a while and I've noticed the goalies have been very, very weak. On my Franchise, I have all of a sudden been having 6-5, 5-4, 7-6 games instead of 2-1, 3-2 games. I don't have high scoring on and it's like this on Be a Pro, season mode and play now. It's very frustrating to have a normal, realistic game if this is happening.
