    I'm sick and tired of people always picking USA or Canada instead of NHL teams. EA fucked up the team selection for online games. Can't even see what my friend gets when you do 3 Random's and a suicide for picking teams.

    This game is... Great?!

    Been playing NHL 17 for the past 3 years, wasn't too interested in spending 80$ for a roster update year in & year out. Picked up NHL 20 for 20$ and I've gotta say, this game is surprisingly great. So many quality additions have been made to the game (simply being able to use Vegas is pretty cool)!

    The gameplay itself is vastly improved. I'm quickly learning that "spam poke checking" is far from being overpowered like in 17, and goalies are much, much better. The animations, the presentation & the commentary (other than snoop dog) are excellent.

    I stay away from the online game modes, more of a franchise type of guy. Couldn't be happier with all of the additions, the coaching is awesome, 32nd team expansion is pretty epic too!

    Anyways, been seeing lots of negativity on this sub regarding NHL 20. To those people I'd say, try NHL 17 for a month and you'll quickly realise how very much improved 20 is. I'm having a blast with the game!

    I don't know why but it's so hard to get a straight answer on the release dates of games sometimes . I'm not looking for an exact date but even a "We don't know " or "Maybe 6+ months"? type thing. Maybe i'm just bad at looking this stuff up.

    I'm on NHL 19 and want to get back into it.

    Do you guys think grabbing NHL 20 makes the most sense right now or has there been some buzz on a 21 coming out soon.

    Oh man. Last night I was showing the world that I'm the best Teal playing this game again.

    Got into a lobby with a Level 6 and a Level 12 player. Game starts, and I ask the dudes what colors they are. They both were like"WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN?"

    So I had to tell them "I'm teal, what color are your players?" They laughed their asses off when they realized what I meant, then we ran off 3 dubs in a row and I went to bed. Good shit.

    Hi. I'm pretty shitty at CHEL (generally rated between 600-800) but I enjoy playing with some friends and we have a good time. We generally play 3v3, but this goes for 5v5 as well--to a lesser extent. With that said, I am super duper mega fucking tired of these two situations and I'm looking for feedback as to how to combat/prevent it (other than never going down by a goal :D)

    1. As soon as the opposing team takes the lead, they take every winning faceoff/puck-possession into their own end and stand behind the net where they will simply wait without consequence until you are forced to bring at least one or two players in for a low-percentage forecheck where they are gifted odd-man rushes over and over.
    2. At various points in a close game, the team with the lead will take this even further and simply play keep away with the puck (quite easy, especially in 3v3) and never bother to attempt any type of offense. They'll take the puck deep into their end and just stand and wait for you to forecheck, pass it forward then cycle it back to someone who's retreated. Ad nauseum until the game ends.

    Here's the thing. I don't understand how this is fun for anyone. These games mean essentially nothing. It's just for fun. So what's the point? Is this something that happens at higher levels of skill (say 900+) or is it just us low ranking plebs that attract these losers?

    I know someone will likely say "get better" or "go get the puck", but the few times we've thrown this back in an opponents face (after catching them and regaining the lead), they have as much trouble as we do getting the puck. So it's not just us.

    2V2 Online Versus

    Is there a big 2V2 crowd? A buddy and I play just about every night and its a blast playing 2v2. Would be fun to organize a tournament of just 2v2 or something like that.

    Franchise Mode Scouting difficulty

    I set the franchise to auto-run my staffing and building management and finances.

    Every season, I have less and less budget allocated to scouting and it autohires less and less scouts.

    Its 2027 and I have a scouting salary budget of less than 900K and I only have 8 scouts

    This happens every time I start a franchise. I cant play beyond 2030 normally because I literally have no scouts

    Any advice?

    Franchise Glitch : Edit Player Type Doesn't Work Anymore

    Not sure if common knowledge.. I saw a post on this 4 months ago in Sub but not much else. Sorry if it's a well known glitch but definitely pissed me off today when trying to switch the absolute PILE of TWFs in the game to something else.

    Going into Edit Player while in a Franchise mode does switch the player within that screen but not in the Edit Lines or Attributes screen.

    Tests I did..

    • New Expansion Draft Franchise
    • New regular Franchise
    • New regular with a Replaced Custom team
    • New regular with March 30th roster (all others on Custom roster)

    Also tested an old save (pre-Christmas ish?) and was able to change player types and have them reflected on ALL screens.

    A workaround for this would be switching player types before you start the Franchise. It's possible to do this and the changes go through. I tested this as well.

    • Edit: also tested a Dec 17 roster as well with a New regular Franchise and no good.. appears to be something actually wrong with the mode.
