    It's really upsetting as a fan to see EA Play's "EA SPORTS" trailer only show Madden and Fifa..

    Even if NHL21 is basically going to be the same game next year, I feel like this cements the fact that EA just doesn't care enough about us imo.

    I am a huge 90s/00s hockey fan, and I'm a bit disappointed that EA is missing as many amazing players as they are (especially some with notability in NHL franchise history!). While I understand players who aren't part of the NHL AA have to have their rights acquired separately, the fact we're missing players like Bobby Orr seems downright criminal. The alumni rosters are virtually incomplete, especially for a younger franchise like Tampa Bay (Bulin Wall and Lecavalier all missing...), and for a team like Boston they're missing the aforementioned Orr, Esposito, and more recently, Tim Thomas, Marc Savard, and all on. I get EA Vancouver doesn't have the resources 2k does for NBA, but they've set the bar, aside from missing guys like Barkley and Miller, 2k has everyone. They bring in the GOATs, they bring in cult heroes, and they bring in draft busts. Can you imagine pulling 99 Patrik Stefan from a pack for a draft promo? It'd be hilarious.

    Every single new console generation reveal, we get to see the awesome leaps in graphics and technology for FIFA and Madden, and NHL is ALWAYS left in the fucking dust.. We won't get a proper NEXT-GEN hockey game until at LEAST 2021, if then... I don't understand, they told us when NHL 19 launched that they were splitting the team up and getting to work on next-gen, it made it a little easier to swallow that NHL 20 was lacking in so many departments because a big jump was on the way, but unless they are saving a big reveal for the NHL awards (who knows when that will be), we're getting yet another year of disappointment.

    It's just frustrating, they make an absolute KILLING every year just on HUT, yet apparently can't find the budget to make a better game.

    We're all pissed off but maybe we're overreacting. They typically don't show NHL at EA Play anyway. They didn't show UFC either and fans of that game are just as pissed as we are. If the NHL still has its awards after the playoffs we'll see the game then and if not they'll reveal it at some point over the summer, maybe at intermission during a playoff game or something. Obviously it's frustrating to not even see a second of NHL at EA Play but at least we aren't nba live fans because they don't even have a game at all.

    • NHL 21 most likely not on new gen, no switch or PC either
    • game's placeholder cover shown on Best Buy CA, only shows PS4 and Xbox One.
    • skate 4 is coming so that's cool
    • UFC wasn't announced either so that will probably be old gen EA really doesn't care about NHL. We need a change, please 2K

    A potential idea as to why NHL didn't get shown on EA Play today.

    Maybe NHL is going to reveal something next week at the NHL Draft Lottery? Usually they drop the trailer with the NHL awards, but that is not happening this year. Or maybe they will do some sort of live version of the awards from the homes and have it drop somewhere in there.

    Did they copy EA NHL 19's system for custom teams? Also is it in the Standard edition or did they lock it in Ultimate? I am asking because google and youtube won't give me a straight answer and I don't want to drop money on NHL 20 when I already have 19 if it doesn't expand that stuff...

    Came back after a long hiatus from EA NHL. It was not worth it. I'm done.

    I'm not sure if it's the arcade players who bitch and whine, or the developers at EA who know nothing about hockey but this game is trash. 7 or 8 years ago I was top 500 in Versus. What got me there was solid defensive play. Positioning, stick check, and hits at the right time not putting myself out of position. Every year it gets worse. It's like the developers dont realize that a stick check is literally the number one defensive option for real NHL players. Now its a trip every goddamn time. It's so bad. I've played entire periods 3 on 3 because each team was tripping people constantly. This isnt a real hockey simulation anymore.

    Retiring for this year and putting in some real thought before i buy a PS5 just to own NHL21.
