Why isn’t there more freedom/options when creating players?

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 02:22 AM PDT

You know why do we have to use preset head models and not choose the type of eyes, nose, cheekbones etc... Hair options are not bad but they still could add some more.

Also where's the "mixed colour" option for beards? Joe Thornton in NHL20 has flawless brown beard real Joe had 10 years ago not today. More beard styles wouldn't hurt too.

Also when it's comes to equipment, I'd love to have the ability to choose as stick flex and skate blade types back, it was in NHL14.

And finally a very minor thing- I want licensed pants in the game. Every other piece of equipment is licensed so why not pants?

I appreciate the changes in BaP in NHL21 but there is still so much they could improve when It comes to creating a player(and subsequently using it in BaP)

NHL 21 review: Be a Pro overhaul has no staying power

    Be a Pro Draft

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 08:16 AM PDT

I can't seem to get picked past #1 or #2 overall in the draft. Started in Europe as a LW and put up some good numbers and lost in the CHL finals. Picked #2 overall to the Kings.

Started a 2 way defenseman in the OHL and put up 3 points in 3 games and didn't even make it past the semis. Got picked #1 overall.

I'm playing on all-star and my grades after the games are okay but I have plenty of missed assignments. I mean it's cool to be getting picked high in the draft but it doesn't seem realistic. Anyone else having this issue?

    Takeways from behind?

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 11:06 AM PDT

I am having a really hard time with takeaways, and I see other people doing shit to me that I simply don't know how to do.

How do you takeaway from behind or from the side? Every time I get close to an opposing team's player, he casually snags the puck from me and has possession, while every time I try, 4 things happen:

    1. I poke it away and my opponent still snags it.
    2. I hit the puck carrier, he gets up and gets it before me
    3. I get a penalty
    4. nothing happens, he just straight up keeps it.

How do you guys do that? poke check? stick lift? Is there a button I need to press when I get close to the puck carrier? I usually just try to back skate close to him and take it, but that doesn't seem to work.

    Thoughts?

NHL 21 Be A Pro Unable to get off ice

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 06:25 AM PDT

I was looking around for this in here and couldn't find anything concrete about anyone else having this problem but I wanted to ask.

When my player gets on for his shift his stamina bar doesn't go down and I cannot get off the ice by skating to the bench or hitting B to change shifts until a stoppage of play. I suppose it isn't the worst thing in the world, the coach doesn't get mad for long shifts. But in all honesty it seems cheap and unrealistic for my 71 overall to have the stamina of an absolute workhorse and stay on the ice for 25 minutes a game.

Does anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it? I play on medium so it's 10 minute periods if that detail helps at all too.

I can't find the right difficulty

    Posted: 25 Oct 2020 05:58 AM PDT

The problem is that when I choose all-star I win probably 1 match from 20 or something and when I choose pro I win like 1-10 and don't even try too hard. Same in be a pro. I choose pro I get 3+2 in every game. If I choose all-star I rarely get anything. I'm playing nhl 20 at the time but soon 21. I wonder if there is any settings that would help me to get the right difficulty for me?

    Hot take on BAP

    Posted: 24 Oct 2020 05:49 PM PDT

I personally like being called "the Kid" or "The Rookie". Even in 6+ seasons because it feels better thinking of it as a nickname. Kinda like how in SSBM Mango. One of the best players has a nickname "The Kid".

Does anyone have a list of player type changes for Franchise Mode?

    Posted: 24 Oct 2020 10:15 PM PDT

I know that there are certain player types (SNP, PLY, TWF, etc.) that go well with each other, but has anyone changed any of the player's player types like Hedman from TWD to OFD to better fit chem and help the team perform more consistently?

Ex. TB would remain a good team and not miss the playoffs because the team chem is off. BUF all of a sudden would sim well because their player chem is amazing, etc.

If so, does anyone have a list of players that they've changed player types to better fit team simulations in franchise?
