    I'm isolating so have time and figured I'd share my personal experience with NHL 21 so far. I guess this is an unpopular opinion based on this sub and EA's socials. I play every year and probably put more time in to 20 than previous years. I won't know my gametime until end of the year since I play on PS4 not XB. But for some context in HUT last year I had 150 online wins (probably more L's) plus 140 Squad Battles, countless HUT challenges, I was also P3Lvl30 in EASHL.

    My 10hr trial is almost done and I truly feel this is the biggest improvement between iterations on the current console generation. Beyond the new modes, the gameplay tweaks make the game truly feel different. Each player controls differently, even within HUT Rush you can feel variances between your players and end up having to pay more attention to which players are on the ice and where they are. You can ignore player factors and use them all the same if you want but when I've ignored which players I have on the ice I don't get the same successes out of my team.

    Then when you mix in new dekes and you can play a completely different way. I've found myself thinking of new ways to approach my plays in both ends that weren't possible in previous iterations. Once you get used to using chip and slip dekes those alone drastically change the flow of the game. In my view saying this is the same game "since '15" or even as last year kinda just shows that those players are boring. They're not playing the game to it's full potential then saying there's no depth for gameplay.

    With the early access trial I mainly played offline HUT and HUT Rush because I don't want to waste trial time on waiting for lobbies in EASHL. You get what you put into the game and I've really enjoyed the 10hr trial and it's made me excited for the full game unlock.

    Player Ratings Aren't Accurate

    Zach Werenski is listed at an 87 in the menus. Go to edit his attributes, he's an 85.

    Same thing with Seth Jones (listed at 87, go to edit attributes and he's an 86) -- guessing it's a pretty widespread thing for most players.

    Edit: Gavrikov listed at 80, he's actually a 77. This is wild.

    Edit again: Savard listed at 82, actually an 80; edited him up to an 83, back in the menu it now says he's an 88.

    I just finished my ELC and they haven't changed a thing, there is no contract negotiations or anything just got 2 options for 2 year contracts, 1 was a renewal and the other was a different team. Kind of kills the entire mood of the game.

    I heard someone saying that there's no negotiation ability for your player's contracts but I haven't looked in to it. Can someone fill me in a bit more? Is there some sort of negotiation and are the contracts somewhat representative of how you played? Asking because last year my character would score around 90-100 points every year and I would get offered 4-5M contracts..

    NHL 21 Graphics/Animations Bug

    Has anyone else ran into the bug in NHL 21 HUT when opening card packs? Every card pack I've opened has had the animation not work and then I can't back out of the screen. I have to restart the game to have the cards show up in my inbox, but even then the card images aren't being shown.

    Any ideas?

    So I'm playing NHL 19 BE A PRO, been playing & it's 2022, I realized recently the Panthers are really good & seen the Name Lafreniére so I looked & they drafted him #1 overall in 2020 and now him and Barkov are tearing it up! guess EA has some real names in the list of prospects tht get drafted?

    -During gameplay coaches can be heard yelling "change, Skate etc". -Bauer Ultrasonic goalie equipment added -CCM Axis goalie equipment added -Goalies now make more realistic saves/covers. -Goalies now while laying prone can raise glove hands towards the shooters angle -Franchise mode keeps track of league and franchise records for players, but not for teams/gms. -You can pan the camera around with the left stick during cut scenes/replays. -Players dont all skate like McDavid like in NHL 20 when they all appeared to be running more so than skating.

    small features that aren't added.

    -no new goalie helmets -no gm stats in franchise -menu layout is the exact same -no new logos for custom teams -no Lefevre goalie equipment yet (a lot of nhl goalies wearing them)

    So my dumbass monkey brain deleted all of my notes while transferring them to Google Sheets, so I wasn't able to finish, and I don't think I have enough time left on my trail to finish even if I wanted to spend another 2-3+ hours doing it again. But I still have big plans for this. I plan on making a sheet for every roster update, and basically having an archive of how all the teams change throughout the season. If there's enough community hype around it I believe this would also be a reliable way to share your custom rosters with other members of this sub, which I think could be really fun if people are engaged with it. Here's what I got done, I'd really appreciate it if you guys looked at it and gave feedback as to whether you all think this would be a cool/helpful idea or not. I'm personally really excited for this *especially the potential for rudimentary roster sharing* just wondering if you guys share the same excitement, though.

    Best rosters in history*

    Everyone is ranting about rosters, but there is one benefit for franchise players which makes these the best in history of franchise mode.

    Finally we can do proper expansion team career - for the first time, you will start at the real draft and you can draft real players. No more two first overall pick the same year. No more shallow draft with players you have no info (well you still wont have all the info, but at least the players are real and if you follow hockey some time, you know which players are good).

    So if I can recommend something, stop ranting about roster state and enjoy this oportunity, because I think its the last time we can benefit from this. And one thing, maybe you should edit some overrated players with legacy ratings😀

    PS: you have to enable "add one year" option, you will still have all the FA from yesterday (Hall, Pietro) as FA. If isnt enabled, FA will have players that have contract for next season (ie. Landeskog, etc.).

    Be a Pro Draft Position

    I've started 4 careers and I dont know the logic in this.

    1 - Played all games of CHL Tournament and had 7 goals, 7 assists, taken 1st overall

    2 - Played 0 games of CHL Tournament and had 0 goals, 0 assists, taken 160th overall

    3 - Played 1 period of each game in the Memorial Cup and had 2 goals, 1 assist, taken 1st overall

    4 - Played 0 games of Memorial Cup and had 1 goal, 1 assist, 1st overall

    All of these were on All-Star.

    Do not know how the new Be a Pro draft system works, but it definitely needs an update already.
