But, wingers in general...as a defenseman...jeezus boys, we need to talk. First and foremost, no, you're not "playing defense" when you're crashing your own net, hitting your defensemen out of position, or fighting your teammates for the puck behind the net. I assure you, you're way out of position if those scenarios sound familiar. Also, if you're standing in front of the net trying to block the shots of defensemen at the point, you're out of position. You should be covering those guys, not trying to block their shots. Look, there are 5 skaters on the ice. You're just one of those. We all have roles out there. Our role is defense. You can't stand defenders who skate down on top of you on offense trying to get the puck to score, so how do you think we feel when you skate down and crash the net on us? Good defenders want you to have the puck...but if you sprint down at us and fight us for the puck, who do we pass to? Who do you pass to? Usually you ice it because you're passing up to where you should be. It's not hard to stay up and cover the point on defense. Offensively, if your defenseman has half a brain, he's up at the point, giving you an outlet pass back up the boards if you're pressured. Too many wingers panic and end up with a crappy backhanded push of a shot that's dead on arrival. Throw it back up to your defense...we can shoot it, pass it back down, etc. In short, if you're constantly right next to either of your defenseman, you're out of position and causing problems. Space out, give us passing targets, and stop chasing the puck everywhere! [link] [comments] |

I just had a 58 win team get reverse swept in the ECF by a team barely .500. What went wrong? Is there a way to fix it so this doesn't happen/ways to make the sim more realistic. | Controlling Multiple Franchises Posted: 23 Feb 2021 08:30 PM PST I spend 100% of my time on this game offline, messing with rosters and playing a Franchise/Season modes. I have really wanted EA to feature owning multiple franchises for many years now, does anyone else feel the same way? Is there any way you can think of to get this off the ground or get the attention of someone because it seems like a really easy addition to the game considering all other sports games offer this feature. No matter how I set ours, they cant cycle the puck on offense, often just skating into defenders and turning it over, they never make neutral zone plays of any kind, and defensively are always giving up odd man rushes and breakaways, or turning to skate back into the boards and getting pinned. my brain is numb and I need help... Posted: 23 Feb 2021 04:50 PM PST I've got 3 PS DS4's yet I only play NHL using my day 1 launch DS4 .. the sticks are so broken in and smooth that playing with any other controller not only feels wrong but ruins my whole game ..
