(Discussion) Hitting has easily become my favorite part of this game

Not sure if this is popular around here, but with all the glitchiness that surrounds a lot of the goals, my favorite part of EA NHL is the hitting. I think it's one of the mechanics that's actually improved a lot over the years. Here are some of the biggest hits I've gotten over the last while. I'd love to see some more big ones if anyone has videos.

Also, what's your favorite type of hits? I love the big open-ice ones but I think hip checks are also really cool/funny although I haven't really figured them out yet, any tips?

Poke check, stick lift, hook, stick down to block the pass, body check, hip check, full lying down block........ all defensive tools to stop the other team. So why the hell do the AI defence just skate beside people doing absolutely jack all??

On be a pro, i started in the CHL, and then at some point got injured and put out for 25 days. The game i came back, I GOT INJURED AGAIN FOR 88 DAYS. that ruined my draft chances lmao

How do I not get drafted first overall

Every single time I start a new career I know I have to get drafted either first or 2nd overall to either my least favorite team, or 2nd least. It's always boring and repetitive. If I sim, I always score a ppg even as an enforcer defenseman. This game makes BAP way to easy and Babies you way to much.

Duplicate Players in Franchise Mode

is there any option to select to make it not allow duplicate players in franchise mode? I have messed with the rosters a bit and would like them to remain the way I have created them, but I keep finding duplicate players throughout the league. I feel like there used to be a setting to help with this, but not sure. Thanks!

What is the latest game with CHL season be a pro?

I hate the new be a pro as you can't get injured out for more than the rest of the game, it's impossible to not go 1st overall, sim is too easy as I always get a ppg in the CHL/memorial cup no matter the archetype, and a plethora of other bugs and shit. I really like the chl season mode and know it was in 18 but not sure if it was in 19 or 20 as I didn't buy the games and pretty much stopped playing or following hockey for a couple years.

I have NHL 17, should I upgrade to a newer year?

Love playing casual games when I get home from work, just against AI and don't do franchise mode or be a pro or anything besides quick games.

How much has changed between my NHL 17 and the latest title? I'd like to have updated rosters and its tempting when I see 19, 20, and 21 used for 10, 15, and 20 bucks respectively.

Handedness?

So I'm pretty much at the end of my rookie season as a goalie, and when I started I put his handedness as right, assuming it just meant dominant hand. Lo and behold, it turned out to mean that it would make his right hand the glove hand. So here I am, having barely scraped through the season, with no way to change it. It's a stupid question, but am I pretty much going to have to start over in order to fix that? I'd really hate to lose all that progress just because handedness apparently means something else to EA than it does to everyone else.
