    Why does NHL 09 run poorly, despite meeting my system requirements?

    I just got a copy of NHL 09 on PC, and looking at the system requirements, it should run well on my PC. The game runs perfectly when it comes to menus. But when I start playing an actual game, as soon the arena is loaded and the scoreboard appears, the game seems to run at 10-20 fps from what I can tell. So what's the deal? And are there any mods that help the game run better?

    Here's a comparison of the system requirements according to the back of the box of my copy of NHL 09 PC, and my PC's specs.

    Example: NHL 09 requirements / My specs
    OS: Windows XP SP2 / Windows 10 20H2
    Processor: 1.5 GHz / 2.4 GHz
    RAM: 512 MB / 4 GB
    Hard drive space: 3.1 GB / As of writing this 49.2 GB left (with NHL 09 already installed)
    Video memory: 64 MB / 128 MB

    Where to find one timer, short handed goals and offensive face-off stats

    Just got NHL21 after a couple year break and I'd always collected stats when i play against my homie - after playing the new version last night i can't seem to find where the stats are for one timers and offensive face-offs.

    Short handed goals i can see if i scroll through the list of all goals scored but earlier versions provided that in the game stats.

    Any help is appreciated - i've got a massive spreadsheet of stats and I'm trying to not have to make too many changes to it.

    Do people actually find this game fun?

    No way people find this game fun right? Ive owned every single NHL from 2003-2018. I used to love it. Dynasty mode in NHL 14 was literally addicting, not even for whatever features that game had that were taken out but just the gameplay was fun. Then 15 came out and was basically just a demo. 16 was my most sweaty chell game, made it to D2 in hut using nothing but AHL WBS Pens players. Then 17 was the exact same game and 18 was nothing but the same 4 cheese moves to do anything. I quit playing chell cuz at that point honestly playing ranked league of legends was more fun (that says something). Then when 20 came out for free on EA Play I figured I'd try it out and start a franchise. Well, I quit after about 3 games. The menus were slow and laggy it took 10 years to do anything, a period with no penalties took like 6 minutes to play but if there was even just 1 penalty that period took 45 minutes to get through (honestly wtf). I will say the skating felt great but wtf did they do to the ai? One game they're brain dead af and the next they'll skate through my entire team, 5 poke checks, 3 hits and score while doing a back flip...the gameplay was awful. Well needless to say I didn't buy 21, since taking a piss on and shredding $60 would bring me more enjoyment, I just finished my 10 hour trial...what the F is that game... TRY and play it like a real hockey game...no like seriously guys, put those 4 cheese moves away for a game and try to play it like a real hockey game...you can't...there's no dump and Chase, there's no playing the body along the boards, theres no give and go's, you can't do anything but 1 T's and slappies form the top of the circle...oh and the occasional wrap around. It's so scuffed. For anyone that spent money on this game, I'm sorry for your lose, you're almost as dumb as being a flyers fan. I'm longing for the day (that'll never come) where the monopoly simulation hockey game makes a simulation hockey game. The extreme low effort this studio puts into these games is embarrassing and I really just hope this community begins to make a stand (kinda) like the Madden community cuz this shit is tragic

    I've been playing nhl for two or three months now and just don't feel like I'm improving past the basics. I'm also learning more and more about hockey in general so my overall ignorance of the sport is holding me back, I get that. Does anybody have suggestions on where I might go to learn to be a better player?? I've been watching hockey almost every night and YouTube has few sources on EA NHL games. Anything would be much appreciated!!

    I notice that you cannot immediately re-pass the puck after you've received a pass from the AI by calling for it. Is this a known issue?

    AHL players in free agency instead of on the roster of their respective teams

    Okay so I have come across this problem while playing Franchise mode.

    I wanted to do a new franchise but after I started one I noticed that some of the AHL players were missing from the roster (even important players with high OVR, the captain and the alternates etc...)

    Then I found them in free agency. Okay I can just sign those players to my team no biggie. But then I noticed that the free agency was full of decent AHL players(like tens of 78-73 OVR players) and after a brief Googling I found out that almost all of them are currently signed with some AHL/NHL team irl but not in the game.

    So I went to rosters and found out that these players are assigned to the correct teams and are not showing in free agency at all.

    Then I noticed that despite them being assigned to the teams they had no contracts (as the player info section with salary showed (-) and they had no term). A lazy move by EA when updating rosters but I thought that it's still fixable so I manually went through all AHL teams and added contracts to all the players (usually 700k 1 year 2way) which took me about 2 hours

    Thinking that the problem is solved, I started a new franchise, simmed to 1st of July and....all the players were still in FA and had no contracts

    So I thought that maybe it's because I started a 32 team franchise and the extra offseason with the imaginary draft somehow messes the contracts (even though I ticked the "Add extra contract year" when starting the franchise.

    So finally I started a classic 31 team franchise with no draft or anything and.....the players were still in FA, despite showing on correct teams and having contract when checked in Rosters.

    So my question is, did anyone else come across this bug? Is there a solution?
