| Let’s talk about presentation. Posted: 13 Oct 2019 07:44 AM PDT Hi! Mostly a long time lurker here. I come to see sweet dangles and sick saves most of the time but I also browse what the community is upset over with the game. Moving on, the reason I'm typing this. I've been playing NHL off and on since 17, but the first game I bought on launch was '19. I played the Beta and I LOVED it. The new skating engine was AWESOME and hitting mechanics were great. We all know how well that ended with the mid year patches, but that's not why I'm writing this. Ever since NHL 17, the commentary and presentation has been BORING. I was so upset last year that we didn't have play-by-play for drop in EASHL games and the commentary for everything else was just the same recycled stuff with the occasional new line. So, I was intrigued when I saw that EAs deal with NBC was expiring. It piqued my interest to see what they would do. And. Ho. Ly. Shit. They delivered. Mind you, this is just my opinion so I don't speak for everyone. But, I LOVE the new play-by-play with James Cybulski and Ray Ferraro. For one, it's WAY better at being reactionary to what's going on in the rink. Two, it's way more exciting. James Cybulski is fantastic at being excited and three, the dialogue between him and Ray feels much more natural in its flow throughout the game. And finally, the new scoreboard. Well, actually we'll just blanket this as scoreboard and transition animations. Killed it. I love the new scoreboard. I love the new goal banners when you score. I love the stats that flash across the bottom of the scoreboard. You get the idea. I didn't buy the game upfront. I used the 10 hour free trial from EA Access. I love it so much that once the trial was out, I bought it. Keep making some dirty fucking dangles boys. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments] |

Yes, I need to get better, git gud, etc But why did EA take away the ability to draw penalties if my opponents are going to sit in the slot and clog the middle? Meanwhile actually attempting to take the puck away from opponents causes my CPU teammates to mimic my movements leaving guys open on the back door. Yes, I have adjusted my defensive strategies. Glad we have new celebrations and shot animations. That really improved the actual game play. If I wanted to play the CPU, I'd play franchise mode. [link] [comments] |

| Getting a created player into franchise mode Posted: 13 Oct 2019 10:30 AM PDT So I would like to create a player and have them on my roster for the start of a franchise mode. I created a player, merged the rosters with the October 10 update, but they appeared as a free agent and my team is capped out to begin with. Is there a way to make them appear on my AHL affiliate right from the beginning? Also, if I create a player and delete my custom roster that will also delete the player, right? [link] [comments] |

I had one going with the Jackets, am about 6 seasons in (fired by the Sens after 3 season) and I've got to the middle of October and every time I try to simulate my next game vs the Islanders, nothing will happen. The "loading circle" in the corner continues to move and the music still plays as if it's just taking a long time to move ahead, but it doesn't. I tried going back to an earlier save point, but the same thing ends up happening. As I wasn't terribly attached to that franchise, and the new roster just came out, I started a new one as the Rangers. I got to December of my first season, and it's the same issue. I played a few online matchups to get my fix, but I've got a couple days off coming up and I'd really like to enjoy Franchise, but I don't want to get into one only to have it freeze up at some point and lose everything. Is this because majority are grinding HUT? Does WOC become more alive later in to the year? It's a shame. Wanted to grind it but I'm not spending most of the time sitting there waiting. My player is 36 and I have played for multiple teams never getting above a 5 mil 2 year contract even though I have been top of the point leader board since the first season, however I want to know all the teams I've played for [link] [comments] |

But then they released an update a few weeks and it felt exactly like 18. Has this happened yet with 20? I only play single player mode against friends locally and be a gm mode. However, about a year ago my EA Account got hacked and as such I can't sign out of it to use a new account. As I don't play much of the online modes (mostly just a franchise guy) I don't mind too much, but I'm wondering if it will affect my ability to get roster updates. Will the game update to the latest roster automatically? Or will I be shit out of luck since I can't connect to online features? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 12 Oct 2019 03:52 PM PDT I just got NHL 20 about 5 days ago and for my weekly objectives the last one I need to get is "OPEN 3 DAILY REWARD PACKS". I assume they're talking about the once every 24 hours packs? I've opened them every day and they're registering that I'm opening them under the milestones section but not on the Weekly Objectives section. Any thoughts or am I an idiot? [link] [comments] |
