- Any good links for new players? Istink. Last time I played was in 09. Trying to improve. Best way to do so? I stink at dekeing/almost always shoot by accident in the offense zone. I’m use to the old hockey games of the 90s where quick one timers and cutting in front of the net were king.

I started it up already, and I noticed I could start right in the NHL, or I could go to the CHL and be as young as 15. Does anyone know if there's any benefit to like progression speed when you start young or is it just there for people who want to play through a longer career? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 13 Dec 2019 11:44 AM PST This may come off a little like a rant, and that's fair enough if I get "get gud" comments, I u defat and that. But recently I've been absolutely struggling. I usually play EASHL and that mode has seemed largely the same to me. But in HUT and VS I have all the sudden lost the ability to actually do anything offensively, or when I do, I can't seem to catch a break defensively. Cycling the puck was what I did really well. Either working down low to high and looking for tips/rebounds, or a tight triangle looking for slot one timers. Lately it feels like skillzone scoring and cheese point shots from terrible angles/cross creases are the only things that are going in though. And when I go to cycle it's just fatiguing my players more than seems worth it. Defensively idk what's going on. I rarely poke but I will rely on the skill stick to sweep away pucks or to try and position my stick to block lanes. But it feels like maybe after this update I keep getting my stick skated into and the guy goes flying. The stick is there, already established position, and he skates over it and instead of him being dispossessed he's either tripped or the puck just goes back on his stick. I've never seen a game reward such terrible strategy before like this one tbh. The puck interceptions are great in my mind because cross crease forcing was an issue. However. I just had 3 games in a row where I had a 4-0 lead where I got taken to OT because the guy literally stood on the halfwall and cheesed a pass through my defender. The AI on the person in the slot isn't tying up despite adjust strategy, and he's just getting easy goals. So basically is this just me? Like did I suck overnight or is this something others are noticing? [link] [comments] |

The goalies are way to easy to score on! It's ridiculous! Every goal is the same. Go forehand then quickly to your backhand and the goalie is so clueless he just stands there and doesn't even move and you've got a free goal. EA need to fix it, up the difficulty a bit on them. | Player Switching on Defense Question Posted: 12 Dec 2019 03:57 PM PST Hey sorry if this has been discussed b4 as i just discovered this subreddit...have been playing chel since 14 and play a lot. In 20 i get scored on a ridiculous amount by cross ice pass goals because my AI defender is booty...is this a similar problem for ppl? Also, when usering a defender, why can't you change the direction they skate (forward vs backward) until the offensive player passes u? On a fast break where i know they r trying to sprint down the ice and do a cross ice pass, my defender won't switch from a classic backward defensive skate even though i am pressing LT (Xbox)...any insights? Posted: 12 Dec 2019 12:31 PM PST I cannot seem to make a pass in the direction I want half the time... it takes a goddamn year and a half to get the puck off of my stick, and it seems like they have essentially outlawed the ability to move the puck across the crease even with a saucer pass... is this a settings thing or is this game just awful?
