| Unpopular Opinion: A hockey video game is much more difficult to make than other sports games Posted: 17 Apr 2020 03:51 PM PDT Every day it seems there is another video post with the description "EA Logic at its finest" in regards to the physics within the game. So let's take a look at NHL compared to other sports games like FIFA, Madden, NBA, and MLB. Let's start with FIFA and NBA. You have a relatively large ball that gets kicked or passed between players. Easy enough. Additionally, there is less physical contact with other people, plus there are no physical boundaries and the goals are located out of the field of play. Moving on to NFL/Madden. We take some of the components of FIFA and NBA and we add in some physical contact. Player movement is much more precise as there are specific guidelines when running plays. Now let's look at MLB. Similar to NFL, baseball is composed of single events, rather than a free flowing game. The big change graphically is the use of a bat and a ball. Finally, let's take these ideas and apply them to NHL: we have the free flow of FIFA/NBA, the physical contact of NFL, and the fine precise movements of a bat/ball from MLB. For all 10 players and 2 goalies on the ice. Oh and there are physical boundaries to work around, along with goals in the middle of the ice. Oh and they aren't running, they're skating. Oh and the last thing, they are creating this game with the smallest department of employees compared to the other sporting games. But we're just going to complain that the devs don't know what they're doing. Hockey has to be one of the most difficult sports to turn into a video game that is actually playable. It seems like you guys just don't understand what kind of concessions need to be made to even have a hockey game to begin with. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 17 Apr 2020 01:36 PM PDT I was watching some of BaConCountry's old videos of NHL 15 and I wanted to download NHL 15 cause I wanted to see my old HUT team, and I realized its not on the Microsoft store or the EA Access hub. | Posted: 17 Apr 2020 01:31 PM PDT So NHL is a few years removed now from having attributes and XP to level up your pro in EASHL, which to be honest, I loved because at least I can select which attributes I want to improve... Now, several years later and it doesn't seem as though NHL will be heading back to that, So I figured, if not that, with all the useless gear they give us in hockey bags, why not at least make them have attribute points along with their rarity. At least it'll make levelling up in world of CHEL worthwhile. I find it irrelevant to open up 22 hockey bags of cosmetics.. tell me I'm crazy [link] [comments] |

I haven't created or deleted any teams in about a month. Is there any reason that the teams I've put hours of work into to disappear? Internet issues? Game version? Glitches??
