    When should I expect a roster update for all the recent FA signings and trades? Kind of want to hold off on playing Franchise and Be a Pro until everyone is on their current teams

    Manual Goalie feedback and thoughts

    This year's manual goalie seems to be a marked improvement over past iterations. Probably feels the best since like nhl15. Heres a few of my thoughts on why I like it, and how it can still be improved.

    • movement feels MUCH more fluid, especially side to side.
    • transitioning from standing to butterfly is smoother and does not handcuff your ability to move, correct your positioning, make save animations.
    • your goalie is much more willing to make glove, blocker, pad saves on his own when the shot isn't going to hit you square in the chest
    • your goalie squares himself to the puck much better on the cross creases and one timers
    • much better animations when tight to the post without using the "hug post" button resulting in less wraps and short side goals
    • goalie takes off much faster sliding left to right instead of having a fake slick ice delay pushing off
    • the game seems to have some sort of "magnetism" or maybe its just the better responsiveness, but breakaways and penalty shots are MUCH easier to save this year
    • shot speed in general seems to have been slowed down making them easier to read and adjust to
    • rebounds are more predictable in general and seem to follow the laws of physics

    Some dislikes i have...

    • your goalie seems to phase through the post and net much more frequently creating some not ideal albeit hilarious situations
    • goalie and animation to cover puck are VERY aggressive and seemingly random. Too many random desperation attempts to cover loose pucks almost behind the net
    • still a delay in between playing a loose puck and being able to shoot or pass it
    • waiving off goals doesn't seem to exist anymore

    It says I wasn’t the first star of the game nor managed to outscore the opposing team’s rookie, although I actually just accomplished both feats. What the heck is up with this game? EA fix please

    Yet again, I am completely not shocked by the fact that EA removed the ability to start at a younger age and actually play more than 5 games in junior/european leagues. When will this feature come back, maybe NHL 23?

    Some positives and negatives I've noticed so far in Franchise mode.

    One of the best changes I've noticed is that generated Sniper and Playmakers actually have appropriate line preferences in the draft like Carry/Shoot/Efficient/Balanced/Behind the net, which makes them actually fit in with current offensive players. Last year it was common to get a medium elite 79 overall sniper have Dump/Balanced/Energy/Block/Crash the net for line preferences which are perfect chemistry wise to play on the 4th line with most headcoaches and not the top 6 where you want them. Also defenseman in the draft have preferences like Balanced/Balanced, Balanced/Cycle, etc. Last year every single generated defenceman had either Pinch/Cycle or Pinch/Shoot only. Which made Forward Headcoaches look like an excellent choice but Offensive generated forwards very rarely fitted into the top 6 chemistry-wise. These two fixes make in-depth manual scouting and playing the full 25 years actually worthwhile imo. I shouldn't be this excited for this bare minimum effort fix that should've been in last year.

    One of the biggest negatives is that it shows forward line preferences when looking at defensemen but I noticed that you can see their line preferences from the roster moves screen if you right click and go over a few tabs to the player's line preference tab. Also scouting is super messed up, for some reason the amateur scouts only scout players ranked from like 400-800 and not the top 200 like they should be. So you do have to manual scout every player till they patch it. Also got the obvious old rosters, pretty awful ratings for some players either overrated or underrated and everyone in the 2020 draft still in the 2021 draft.

    I'd stick to fantasy drafts, manually scouting, maybe adjusting some ratings if you have to till everything is fixed if you want to enjoy Franchise.

    What are some things you guys noticed they did wrong/right this year so far? I have only played one season so far and there are many variables that make Franchise what it is or isn't.

    What's considered a "good game" in BaP?

    Lots of flash in the early going of BaP, and will give credit where due, it's a big overhaul to NHL20. HOWEVER, some of the coaching objectives are just ridiculous.

    Example: last game of the pre season I was sitting at 4-4-8 for a stat line in the preseason. Coach then says I need to step it up to make the team. Demanded I get first star. We win 3-0, I record an assist on every goal, 3 point night. I get second star because our goalie had a 14 save shutout and I get cut from the team. (assigned to the minors)

    I wish the coaching would have been far more realistic. Like have great offensive zone time, shots, strong forecheck, chip in offensively, smart hits etc. But you can do the legit opposite of all those and have a +/- of -7 but as long as you score a few goals the team is happy.

    Seriously, EA, do I really have to watch this unskippable BAP intro every time I want to make a new BAP? You've already made me watch it twice for some reason and then I go to make a second BAP player and I have to watch it again? At least let me skip it.

    Missing HUT Rewards

    Be A Pro second line glitch.

    Anyone else experiencing a glitch in be be a pro where you get a cutscene with the coach telling you you've been moved to the second line but you just never do?

    It's happened twice now where the coach has told me I'm being moved up a line and gives me a challenge to get 1 goal or assist in the next game but I'm still stuck on the third line. It seems like the line bar thing that shows up after every game isn't moving at all either. It seems to reset just back to under line 2 every time.

    Pre Order/EA Play Question

    Hey guys, question for anyone that can possibly help. I already preordered the Standard addition a few months ago, and I'm getting antsy to play it....I'm just curious, does anyone know if I were to go ahead a subscribe to EA Play, do I have to purchase the game after having EA play to play it now? Or would my preorder then be ready to download and play? Thanks in advance anyone who can give me an answer!

    in EASHL drop ins i keep getting stuck on "waiting for all players to resume" and then get disconnected after a few minutes. playing on xb1 - anyone else getting this or know a fix?

    Bugs in NHL 21

    I know for me at least there's been a lotta shaky stuff but a frequent one I'm getting is whoever I control keeps getting stuck for a second when I go towards a loose puck. Wondering if anyone else had this problem or just has any other weird bugs they've experienced and wants to share em in the comments cause its funny how many I've had in this game already, but do expect most of them to be fixed.
