- Things like this are why I'm always so skeptical when EA says they've improved AI performance. Watch #15 as he skates back into the play. This game will feel new to some but inevitably will be like all the rest of this gen.

- Im so relieved with 21. The movement is more challenging and the skill stick is so much more precise. Say what you want but defense is subtly more practical and offense is a bit nerfed. Optimistic for sure but the game mechanics just seem better than the past few years.

| Posted: 12 Oct 2020 09:24 AM PDT Started trying Be A Pro last night and it's definitely a lot better, I dont love that it seems like no matter what you do, you'll be drafted as either a King or a Ranger but I was thinking about it and I think there are ways to improve that in the future. Starting off, you should be able to choose the kind of prospect you are. If you're high end generational talent, you get drafted earlier but likely worse supporting cast, your management likes you more (because they are building around you) but your brand is a little shakier as it goes high with wins/low with losses or bad play. Maybe teammates like you less because they are jealous or you have to work harder to build the teammate aspect. You could choose unknown prospect. You go later in the draft, but typically (or at the very least more likely) to a better run team. Your teammates like you a lot if you add value, but it's harder to build your brand and management scores as management isnt tied directly to your success and your brand might be localized by your market (if you're in NYR you probably have a bigger brand than if you're in winnipeg etc.) [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 12 Oct 2020 06:20 AM PDT So, when you are trying to set up any trades during the TD Frenzy, if you get any trade offers, it completely wipes out everything you have set up and makes you start all over. And unfortunately, you get trades every 20 seconds or so, so if you are only able to make small trades that you can do in under 20 seconds, otherwise it'll just wipe everything you have and you have to start over. As you can see, this is very problematic. Considering this whole mode was built for trading, it's a bit problematic that you can't actually do any trading because of this. Here is a video of me trying several times to trade for Mantha, and having to restart several times because the trade offers kept erasing my trade proposals. The video is a bit long. | Scouting in Franchise Mode for Prospects isn't working whatsoever Posted: 12 Oct 2020 12:07 AM PDT So I'm finding that scouting prospects doesn't work at all in Franchise mode for '21. I didn't have these problems at all last year. My scouts won't look at a player and I have to manually get them to for every player, rounds 1 through 7. I've tried everything that I can think of. I've tried toggling the settings from scouting pro players and prospects to "both" or just prospects but regardless, nothing changes. I've tried toggling off the option to hide potential (Hey, at least IRL NHL teams/scouts would have some idea of everyone eligible, right?) but it only affects NHL/AHL players seemingly, so the prospects still have their potential hidden. The worst part is that even if I manually scout every player in the draft, it barely comes back with any info. I can set every scout to just look at potential and it will come back with 1/4 scouting bars for potential, or sometimes no results at all. Are other people having these problems? I'm playing a 32-team league with an expansion team if that might make any difference in causing a bug in the game. [link] [comments] |

Start in the CHL playoffs, the Memorial Cup or the NHL. Is this only for the limited 10 hour version or is this seriously how it's going to be? I was super excited to be able to play 1-2 seasons in the SHL before the NHL, and am now kinda bummed if I can only play the CHL playoffs. Tried finding info about this but couldn't.
