Question about overalls in franchise mode

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 10:59 AM PST

Been playing around with Oilers on franchise mode in NHL 21 and Yamamotos overall is going crazy each season.

First season was a medium top 6f 83 next season was high top 6f 86 third season was high top 6f 89 now in the fourth season he's medium elite 83

points totals each season first season: 72 points second: 88 third: 93

worth noting that after the season ended in the third season and playoffs started he went back down to a medium top 6f 83

not really sure what's going on with the overalls if it has anything to do with morale or what but it's really weird, if anyone could shed some light on what's happening it would be appreciated

BAP players who didn't go first, what were your stats?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 10:47 AM PST

I'm more curious about anyone in the 2nd round what stats you had. I wanted to try to get drafted by Van, but they don't even have a first round pick.

    Has anyone mastered All-Star difficulty?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 10:21 AM PST

Sometimes I think I have it all figured out and will crush 2-3 games at a time. And then I'll come back after a week and get destroyed 2-3 games at a time. All-Star difficulty has also destroyed my left thumb with how much jamming and jolting it goes through.

Has anyone mastered All-Star difficulty? What are some tricks you've picked up?

Is the Columbus logo supposed to be the C? Or did they just cut if off and now it looks like BJ?

Should I be putting points into offensive awareness in Be a Pro?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 10:32 AM PST

I've always wondered this, shouldn't the offensive awareness just be how good or bad I am? Does it actually change anything for me on the ice? If so what?

    Club practice and cpu scrimmage

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 09:23 AM PST

I thought one of the things they said you can do in the development blogs before the game came out was you were going to be able to scrimmage against the cpu and practice with your club team. Where is that option located?

    NHL 21

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:59 PM PST

Can we please fix the computer literally cheating on higher skill levels?

Can we fix the fact that your player slows down on super star even when you have 99 in everything?

I mean, make the AI smarter not a cheater.

How do you win puck battles?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 04:58 AM PST

I'm sorry I didn't want to make a thread in this but in NHL be a pro when the computers are in the corner battling for a puck, how do I help and scoop it out? Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks

How good to you have to be to compete for money?

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 08:32 AM PST

I see there are tournaments online you can enter, but I'm wondering is it only the best of the best that enter these? Like for instance I have recently been getting even better and have won quite easily against the 40th and 50th ranked players and started thinking I should play for cash. Beyond that it's probably a lot harder for me to compete and win consistently.

I realize NHL is supposed to be a video game...

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:55 PM PST

But I wish they added a gameplay difficulty or style titled "realistic". HUT and online modes will probably need to keep the arcadey aspects, the cross creases so that there is a way to score, but with "realistic" it mimics the actual way that players play the game of hockey. This is more geared toward offline modes.

Gameplay is slowed down, CYCLING THE PUCK is the meta, fewer cross creases and rushes, more shots from the point and deflections, actual chips and chases for the puck rather than dumping and completely changing, maybe waiting behind the net for the entire team to change before passing, stuff like that

I realize that I can tweak the sliders but somethings like a player waiting behind the net for the entire team to change, or chipping and chasing requires more than sliders

TLDR: have a new difficulty/play style that revolved around actual representation of hockey and have devs that actually know how hockey is played so that they can tweak the AI

    Kind of Sad

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 07:39 AM PST

So i bought an old xbox 360 yesterday, popped in NHL 12, and wow. I mean it may be because I played that game so much as a child, but i was LOVING it. It just seemed, complete. I was getting replays of hits that happened in the first period in the third period. I dont really see that much in todays NHL games. It may also be that the games have just kinda become so repetitive that something different was amazing to experiece again. Or it may be because its a childhood game but i played 3 games, 5 min period on pro and loved it. I mean i kinda have trouble playing a full game of 21 i get kinda bored quickly its weird.

Its also like not tougher but more true to an actual hockey game. For me personally nhl 21 semi pro is too easy, pro is kinda easy, then then the next one i cant remember if its super or all star but its too difficult and id rather not have to spend hours trying to configure sliders. It may be just me but it was much more fun. I had no blowout games and i mean come one, winter classic baby. But it may be just me but I just had much more fun with 12 than not just 21 but like nhl 16 and on. Like i said may just be nostalgia but it was really really fun and i was glad i did it. Ordered nhl 13-15 as well, got a long winter break coming up in about a month, which really isnt that far away, but i already know how im spending it! But its kinda sad how little effort EA really seems to put in now-a-days. Its like they copy the code from one game to the next, update rosters, maybe change the color scheme, background images and boom they release. But at the same time, young kids now may feel the same way of nhl 21 when they get older as I do nhl 12

How the fuck are people’s EASHL players so good?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 05:44 PM PST

I just played against two guys who were both like 6'5", super tall and big. Threw massive hits.

And they're faster than me, a 5'7" sniper. They can stick handle fast, which was shocking, as when I make a player that big, it's near impossible to stickhandle like Patty Kane out there.

I get you have 2 traits and a specialty, but it's like these players have no weaknesses. Usually you pick and choose traits and there's a trade-off. Wanna be fast? Well you have to be short/small. Wanna hit well? Your puck handling will suffer.

I keep playing these seemingly 99 OVR players in EASHL.

Anyone Open To "Coaching" My Gameplay (PS4)

    Posted: 03 Nov 2020 06:26 AM PST

    Hey everyone -

I've been playing NHL the past few years and i'm decent but consistently lose lol. In NHL 20 my competitive record was something like 93-120. Would love to start going positive. My record in 21 is off to an awful start.

Odd request but if anyone with a positive record on PS4 would play some games with me and help my gameplay out thatd be awesome. I would compensate for your time with some cash.

Let me know if this would interest anyone

    Cheating DISC team Xbox

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 06:15 PM PST

Team name "The North" is disconnecting teams for wins. Just happened to me and my buddy and their last 7 wins in a row are DNF wins that happened very early on. Gamertags are "Wavy I23I" and "kingcutty91". Couple of absolute losers report and avoid them.

Any idea when the Sens/Flames branding will be updated?

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 02:33 PM PST

I want to edit player ratings so I can start actually playing franchise mode but I don't want to do them all and get stuck without the new Sens stuff especially. Have the devs given any indication at all when they're going to update those?

What are the best leagues for EASHL? (Besides LG)

    Posted: 02 Nov 2020 07:55 PM PST

So I saw League Gaming on a video last week and immediately tried to sign up. Their site is broken for me. I've tried tweeting at the LG guys, sending them support email, nothing. I'm literally dying to hop into a full eashl sim league but I can't find any.
