    Lost control over the game last night. My dude just stopped skating as you can see and I couldn't move him. Couldn't change lines, switch player, pause the game. Thought it was my controller but I was able to guide button + X to record the clip. Unfortunately dude scored, lost 3-2. Anyone else?

    Franchise Tips: Developing Players' OVR

    Hi Guys,

    So I started out a franchise sim over the last few days and having fun with it, but I just have a couple of specific questions. Does anyone know how to improve the OVR ratings of their players these days? I've tried hiring coaches and assistants and associate coaches which say they improve forwards or defenders specifically, but I only ever really see players grow 1-2OVR points over the course of three years.

    I used to have no real issues with this on previous games, and I've always made sure my lines are green with at least +1 ratings. Does anyone have any tips?

    Also if you have a coach with a defensive third line preference of Balanced/Balanced, does anyone know how to identify players who fit that, because everyone has pinch and all my Pro scouts, even if they say a player fits line 3, i trade for them and then they always turn out to be pinch and have -1

    I bought the game last week. Played squad battles all week finishing in elite 3. The season ended 22 hours ago. My friend and I haven't recieved any rewards yet. Is this normal?

    Playing defense in drop in games is frustrating.

    I like to play defense, and actually play defense. But it's incredibly frustrating to be wide open on the point, or even at the top of the circle, only to watch your teammates spin around in circles looking for a cross crease pass that isn't there...Making that pass, and creating an unnecessary turn over.

    Forwards. Use your point men. Seriously. It'll make your games so much better. If your defenders are open on the point it, and nothing else is available, pass it to them. STOP. SPINNING. AROUND.

    Just because we're defenders, doesn't mean we can't be used in the offensive zone. Seriously. Stop treating us like we can't help on offense. It's extremely frustrating. We're part of the team. Please start acting like it.

    Not asking you to let us cherry pick, or to play defense for us, letting us run around in the offensive zone. I know defenders who play like forwards are annoying..Trust me. They're the reason I play defense. I don't trust others to. But if your defenders are actually in position, let them get involved on offense. You never see a hockey game at any level, where the defensemen aren't utilized in the offensive zone.

    I win just about every game I play, where the forwards actually cycle the puck and use the point. It's a great way to open up space, generate rebounds, and a good amount of time that one timer from the point is a good way to get a goal.

    Involve your defense in offense. We can do more than just block shots.

    Recently jumped from NHL 16 to 20 and finding it way more difficult

    I keep losing even on All-Star difficulty as the whole game feels a lot different. The puck seems way more 'live', like in a crowd of players it just seems to go everywhere. I constantly lose the puck and can't seem to generate good offensive chances. It also feels like the AI cheats a little bit, any tips?

    Been running a 1-3-1 Defense , but my buddy always gets these long 2 on 1 passes . What offense is he using and what's the best Defense to prevent this ?

    Expand The Expansion Aspect of Franchise Mode

    It would be nice if EA made the expansion draft a little more realistic. Teams with bad contracts should be sending you requests to take a certain player if they give you a draft pick. Or to not select one of their star players they will give you picks ect. It's just so unrealistic going to into the expansion draft to select players and Demko or Jarry are available.

    Also can we select a year to join the league, it's SOOO frustrating seeing 2 players from the 2019 draft go #1.

    WTF is up with AI just leaving the 2 on 1?

    It seems like most of the time if your AI is in the center of a 2 on 1 he'll just run forward and out of it leaving the 1T wide open, the fuck is with that?

    You cant even switch fast enough to keep him in the lane.

    Anyone else unsatisfied with the alumni teams? Like I don't know how they missed Bobby Orr? They have Brett hull but not bobby hull and if you're a Chicago fan you know how important he's been to our franchise over the past decade like being involved with stuff. List some players down below you think are missing from the teams

    I'm banned in nhlhut so that's why didn't post there if someone could cross post it would be appreciated. Immediately after trading in my icon lemieux to get him upgraded my game decided to tell me my lineup was illegal.

    This then runs into a never ending substitution errors and I decide to just quit out.

    I log back in and now my lineup is missing a Mika zibenezad (sic#) and it's not in my collection at all. I don't know what other cards that may have been removed but this is infuriating

    I'm halfway through the second season in my franchise and I've only had one player/team meeting the entire time. I thought this was going to be a bigger part of the game this year. All of the player morale stuff seems pointless. Anyone else seeing the same?
