    So once again, this is hypothetical, but also I thought process I had. 2K is going after the NFL-licensing rights because Madden is the only football game. There is a need in the market for another sports game for football. 2K used to do the 2k football games, and they do a very good job with NBA. So why not throw their hat into the ring to see if there really is a market for a Madden Rival. Right now the agreement is for non-sim games, so like an NFL Blitz, but its still more than nothing.

    On top of that, with the NCAA rulings this past year, you may see a 2K NCAA game come back into the fold. If that were to happen, they can build a solid sim based football game, using NCAA teams to hone their craft, and if they gain a large market share, have a solid game, and prove that it could be translated to a good rival for Madden, then they may push for the ability to make an NFL-sim game.

    Now if they see that jumping back into the madden market really increases profits, I'd assume 2K will look to other sports games that could use a second game in the market. They already own NBA, so no NBA game. Baseball has MLB: The Show and RBI Baseball, so already 2 games, Soccer has FIFA and PES, so two games. They're down to NASCAR/Motorsports(which has a bunch of motorsports games out there) and Hockey. Right now EA NHL is the only sim style hockey game on the market. If 2K is seeing a lot of success with their new football game, they could try to push into the NHL market.

    While this may be a few years away, I would love if this deal lit a fire under the ass of EA and allocated more resources to NHL to build a better game. While this game is still the best representation of hockey on the market(also the only one), I think I speak for many of us that it pales in comparison to the top level games of the other big-4 American sports(NBA2k, Madden, The Show).

    Quick BAP question for 20

    I just got the game, and I set the BAP settings to classic so I can play when I'm ready, but I hit the button and nothing happens. Player doesn't stand up to get in the game, the position player makes no effort to head toward the bench; there is just no reaction when I push the prompted button and it's extremely frustrating. Is this a known issue or am I doing something wrong?

    How do you play your season? Play every full game? Only one period? Only the games that matter?

    I'm thinking about getting back into this game but I never could decide how to play a season in Be A Pro or GM mode.

    I play a lot of NCAA football that's only 14 games a season, but not sure how I should tackle an 86ish game season. Getting to the post season is always a lot of fun but it seems like it takes forever to finally get there

    Just weighing my options. Thanks

    Also I have NHL 16, should I upgrade to a newer edition?

    Does Ray Ferraro have an ownership stake in EA or what?

    Haven't played in several years, I know the Cybulski/Ferraro tandem is new this year but it's a nice change from Doc and Eddie anyway.

    Overall I think the announcing is ok, but I'm also pretty sure 36% of the gd dialogue is about Ray Ferraro having 400 career goals in some way shape or form. It's kinda insane.

    Hopefully EA fixes the schedules next year

    Just noticed the first year(19-20) franchise schedules don't match the real life schedules.

    Today(3/10) Redwings face the Canes.

    In NHL 20 the same day they face the Leafs

    I understand after the first year it's random but usually it matches the first season.

    How to I improve line chemistry in franchise mode?

    I have the canucks first line (JT Miller, Pettersson, Boeser) and they're at a -2 chemistry rating for some reason? They absolutely light it up though. How do I fix this?

    I downloaded 20 and haven't played since 16. In that time I picked up Fortnite a bit - I realize it's a totally different animal but the constant updates/bug fixes are kinda nice.

    Does EA ever patch anything, or no because this is a finished game?

    A few I've encountered in my limited playing...

    - if I win a D zone faceoff and try to take a slapper around the boards, it hits the back of the net and goes out of play. Somehow this is a delay of game penalty.

    - there's no way to see if a player on another team has an extension in place in Franchise (unless I'm dumb). I traded Ryan McDonagh for a different dman as he was declining and I wanted an expiring contract. The guy I traded for showed 1 year remaining everywhere...after I made the trade he had a four year extension. Wtf.

    - no clue how to upgrade seats in Franchise either. It won't let me do it at the start of preseason when I have budget (must be offseason), but then I never have funds at the end of the year even if I don't spend them.
