| NHL 21 Wishlist (fixes & what to add) Posted: 11 Aug 2020 02:37 AM PDT Gameplay• AI pass interception - no matter what level in the gameplay sliders you put this too, the AI make way too weird pass interceptions. The weirdest one is when the steal a passing puck from behind their back. • AI overall interception - interceptions like these and this one (best exemple) and are just very strange overall. Also the ones where it seems the opponent has an incredible reflex when you come slightly too close, for them to instantly poke check the puck and take full control. • Sloppy bot puck defense mechanism - this is what I mean by that, it looks like the bot is glitching. This is very unrealistic and should be fixed, as it's incredibly difficult to take the puck from an opponent when it stats doing this. • One-timers - decent goalies should be able to understand the game better, and not let every single pass to the other side + shot go through. A save like this one could be appropriate. • Poke check ≠ Tripping - something many users have complained at. It's way too easy to trip someone when trying to poke check. Players shouldn't have such a terrible balance and stability. • Zone clearing - when playing boxplay and clearing your zone, the opposing team shouldn't have such ease to recieve the puck while it's flying. It just doesn't make sense. • Tackle over the boards - this was such a fun feature back in like NHL 12, not sure why it was removed, but it was really fun!
Gameplay FEELING• Auto-generated arena size - this might be a really difficult thing to add, but would do a lot to the atmosphere. Almost all hockey arenas exist on Wikipedia, and there you can see the capacity. If you perhaps made a spreadsheet, you'd be able to generate an arena which should end up about the same size as the one in real life. I could definitely help you with this for free, and do it for all the teams in this game which don't have a real arena recreated. It feels pretty stupid to play in huge arenas with small teams. • Bigger intros and outros - NHL 15 is a great example of this. The intros were really good there, but now they're so boring and flat. It would be beneficial with longer and more dedicated intros + outros. Like the players running out from the dressing room, fistbumping fans, player-presentations etc. (this is a great example) • Custom arenas (Create A Team) - I love this whole creation zone with teams that you've added. It definitely gave me a reason to buy the game! It would be tons of fun with further arena-customization. If you implemented the generating ability, this could be added here too. It would make sense to be able to choose the capacity first (say 500-20000+), then randomize the structure (but one would be able to randomize multiple times). Here it should be possible to add a stands section too, since rarely all spots are seated, except for North American-arenas. • More anticiption when scoring a goal - take note!! This team does however have one of the most engaged crowds in Sweden, where the hockey culture is really strong. My point still stands though! • Choose how full the arena should be - I must say having a full arena every single game feels quite strange. There should be an ability to choose from 0-100%, and how many % should be fans from the visiting team. This would also make derbys more exciting • Real arena names - in SHL, one of the best hockey leagues in the world, all arena names are "EA Sports Arena, Stockholm".. at least use the actual city name for the team, if you're not licensed to use the brand names. This issue also exists in Hockeyallsvenskan. • Diacritic letters in customization - it's slightly headaching as a Swede to be unable to use "Ã¥", "ä" and "ö" in names etc. • Add custom logo to your team from Eliteprospects - I'm not sure how this would work copyright-wise, but it would be cool to have an already existing logo in your custom team. This way you'd go around possible inappropriate logos. • Edit arena of already existing team - this would make us able to fix an arena for our teams the way we want it! Like wall colors, structure, intro, outro, goal horn, lights, stand sections and so on. • Add more leagues - big thanks for adding Hockeyallsvenskan and all the other new leagues before! It was a great addition, and so fun to play with those teams. The GET Ligaen (Norway), Metal Ligaen (Denmark), AlpsHL (Austria, Italy and Slovenia), EIHL (United Kingdom), ALIH (Japan, Russia, and South Korea) for example. This would probably also increase sales in said countries, as people will want to play with their country's teams!
Overall bugs• "Select sides" when starting a game - quite often when a new game has finished loading, the "Select sides"-menu comes up for no apparent reason, interrupting the intro and jumping immediately to the face-off.
