The craziest glitch I have ever seen in this game

Increase your PP/PK linescore (Be A Pro)

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:06 AM PDT

Having trouble getting my PK or PP linescore up. Any suggestions?

Went through my entire rookie season, putting up 60ish points and can't get it high enough to be on the second powerplay. I'll have a great 3 point game and it'll go up like 100, then I'll have like a 1 point or no point game and it'll go down 50-80. Clearly impossible to score 3 points a game ever game, so for every 2 average games I have it negates any positive I generated.

Regarding PK - Consistently B- to B+ on Defense and can't even get my PK to move. Its suck at zero. Completely at a loss for what to do...

How would you guys feel about being able to pick your favourite songs from previous EA NHL games?

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 07:10 AM PDT

EA would (should?) still have the rights to all the songs in their previous games so that shouldn't be an issue I assume.

I just think it could be cool if you could go into settings and select all the songs you enjoyed in previous games.

In my opinion I only see upside with this option. Users can customize their experience using songs rights owned by EA (so not using EA tracks where you could add your own mp3 files which if I remember correctly caused copyright issues with posting EA NHL content to YouTube and twitch?).

There have been some bangers in previous games and it would only make the user experience more enjoyable.

    Working on a New Challenge

FREE Analytics tool w/ NHL 21 Player Ratings Included!

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 10:17 PM PDT

Hey everyone, I just finished putting the final touches on my free analytics tool!

It's primary use is a roster generator that combines the players last 3 years worth of WAR from Evolving Hockey and Dom Luszczyszyn's GSVA to create a composite score. You can build a lineup of any 20 active NHLers and see how that team may project. Some other features:

    • Preset Team Lineup Generator • Forward and Defenseman Player Cards • Standings Projections • Composite Score Player Rankings • EA NHL 21 Player Overalls

I worked pretty hard on this and most of the time this is the kind of stuff you'd have to pay a Patreon monthly subscription for, but not this one it's free! If you do end up using it and positing it somewhere, all I ask is you tag me and my podcast! @B_Marsh92 & @SoundTheFoghorn

It's most user-friendly on a laptop or computer, but also works in the Google Drive app! You have to download it to use it, so the attachment here is a view-only.

Many thanks in advance and hope you enjoy using the tools!

PS4 why are we stuck with a shitty CPU on 3's Eliminator?

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 10:53 AM PDT

My buddy and I play 3s eliminator often (not club, drop-in) and are always stuck with a shitty cpu instead of a stranger. Is there anyway to play with someone else? How can we meet people and build chemistry if we're constantly stuck with an unpredictable and terrible cpu?

Just a long rant about the community and also... has it always been like this?

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 09:17 AM PDT

For a tiny bit of context, I LOVED NHL 11-13 that came out when I was in middle/early high school. I took a long hiatus from most video games once I was like a junior in high school until now and I'm a senior in college.

Maybe I'm just finally getting old, but why does it feel like everybody cares SO much about winning in the newer games? Even with my team, the first couple games we were going for some dekes and crazy goals, I was playing as my puck moving D-man with my two less experienced buddies playing danglers and snipers and we were having a good time trying out dekes and going for cool passing plays.

After getting the shit beat out of us a couple times however, I switched up to wing, my buddy took defense and, frustrated as fuck, we decided to "start playing sweaty." I would grab the puck, spin into the corner, protect it with RS, spin back into the middle, short side wrister or cross crease, goal. We'd intensely focus on getting pokes and then full speed straight line sprint to spam the cross crease. Besides an occasional toe drag or through the legs, I didn't use any dekes especially anything really interesting or crazy. We were definitely less pissed off than when we were losing because we were blowing out every team we played, but at the same time we were kinda just like "nice" "good cross crease" "good finish" "good pass".

Eventually, we play this team, win the first face off, pass into the zone, get a one timer goal. They invite us into a party and we actually accept for once. I don't even have a mic (we use discord) but we just sat there and listened to them scream, shriek, call us the n-word, say every possibly offensive thing they could say.

I've just been reflecting on this series of chel games and possibly just being introspective about life in general but I think finally interacting with the people behind all the edgy team names and fucked up player names made me realize that either the community has gotten too toxic or maybe I've just fully grown out of that sort of video game culture.

Maybe the reason so many of us are having trouble having fun with the game is this balance. When I play a game I expect it to be reasonably fun, yet with Chel, the only fun is in winning and the only way to win is to play a relatively boring play style. Like I just can't relate to the guy with 11 1s championships in a day who plays the 6'9 enforcer and rags the puck the entire game. I don't think I ever could have but I definitely can't anymore. I can't relate to the 3s team that spends the entire game with the puck extended out on their stick away from their body looking to spam cross creasers, the kids who backskate up the ice every play, the people who refuse to shoot if it's not almost guaranteed to go in, kids who rag the puck, etc.

The thing is, we all know how to play like that and that's the way to win, what I find interesting is that you NEVER run into people who don't play like that. It's always to a different degree, like some teams will actually try to rag the puck for 55 minutes, some teams more just try to spam cross creases an annoying amount. But in order to win, you have to play like that to some extent no matter what. Like I said above, when my team really wanted to start racking up dubs I was able to be that dude that protected the puck and beamed cross crease passes for 80% of the game, but it kind of fucking sucks to play like that.

What do you guys think? Is the community more full of toxic, sweaty try hards than ever? Did the game change and it forced people to be like this?Did the community just change? Did adding a ranking system make everyone care way too much for some reason? Am I just putting nostalgia vision on the old games and it was always like this?

I really don't want to invest in an Xbox series x when I have a completely serviceable PC to play games on. Any word on 22?

    NHL HUT RIVALS WEEKLY REWARDS

    Posted: 28 Oct 2020 05:15 AM PDT

As an owner of Chel games from back to 06 I'm glad to say I no longer play the series. We all put up with server frustration but my last straw truly is EA's bullshit policy and ethics as a company.

Who takes away someone's weekly earnings because they can't redeem them within a 48 hour window never formally agreed too? Only EA

FUCK EA and FUCK EA SPORTS 🖕smh

    VGHL PS4 6v6 EASHL League

    Posted: 27 Oct 2020 07:17 PM PDT

VGHL is a PS4 6v6 EASHL based league that is pleased to announce that Season 20 registrations are now underway.

This season will be the 1st of 2 seasons that we will hold on NHL 21 with a KHL season to follow. In addition to that we hold a World Championship tournament.

We are supporting full NHL and AHL leagues with 31 teams and minimum rosters of 10 players. We are currently looking for both returning and new players to be AHL eligible as long as you sign-up during our pre-season sign-up period.

    Sign-ups close on November 3rd.

While signups are going on we will be holding a 3's tournament, the Krilla Pre-Season Thumbs Tourney. More information on the tournament is on the site and you must be signed up for Season 20 in order to participate.

The league plays on Sun, Mon, Wed, and Thur and game times are determined by the league you are in.

This season we also have some new features for the players as we unveil our new player report card system. This system will give players an in-depth look at how they are doing from week to week against other players in the league, down to their exact positions.

In addition we will be holding a special 3's tournament during our holiday break. In order to qualify for the prize that we are giving away you must play and finish Season 20.

If you have any questions feel free to message me on here, discord Scalz#1871, or directly on the VGHL site.

We look forward to welcoming anyone to the league that wishes to join.
