    Last year they released a statement about how they were only releasing NHL 21 on current gen, as they wanted to take 2 years to develop their next gen game. That's fantastic news as we now approach the fruits of that labor. The amount of work that could have been done here, the system improvements the devs have to work with, the time and focus available to the dev team... I'm excited to see what's coming.

    I know I've been burned before by expecting the simplest of things, only to be later disappointed (see net mesh physics from NHL 20 to 21), but I'm holding onto a little cautious optimism for an announcement in a months time. Anyone else?

    Make players disconnect if they are afk. Very frustrating to play, if opponent chooses position locking and goes afk. AI continues to play with 4 and you cant even stall out the period behind your goal.

    Newb question - controls don’t work?

    Maybe it's because I haven't played a hockey game since NHL Faceoff 2001 but I can't for the life of me figure out controls in this game and it's been frustrating me to no end. I am using the skill stick and have been playing training and Be A Pro modes using a 6'2" 200lb center sniper and using the skill stick.

    For some reason, it feels like nothing I try to do ever works properly or consistently. Example: stick lifts are impossible. Special dekes, wrist shots, you name it they are inconsistent at best and downright broken at worst. I'm inputting the commands properly with both correct positioning and timing, often when the hint darkens yet the animation doesn't even play. It seems I can't take actions at will, the game feels like it's playing itself and it doesn't really matter what I'm doing.

    One particularly frustrating area is hustling. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've noticed an animation play with any increase in speed from pressing L3. It just doesn't work at all.

    I would say the only actions that seem responsive and work on demand are poke checks, passes, and shots (well, not the wrist shot). It seems simple right? Press input and see something happen - whether it works or not, I really don't care. It's nice to actually be in control of my character.

    I've been looking for YouTube videos but all they ever cover are basic hockey strategy and deking. All I want is some info to how to make the inputs I do actually appear to do something in game. Any help would be very much appreciated.

    Be a pro camera focuses on pucks during fights?

    So whenever I fight in be a pro the camera just focuses on the puck and I can't actually see anything, is it a problem with my camera settings? I'm on low
