| My idea for a Story Mode, would provide hours of entertainment. Posted: 06 May 2020 07:55 PM PDT The story starts off in little league(15/16 years old). You get to to pick one of 4 teams. You play 10-20 games, this is where you get to define your playstyle. You start with all base stats, so as you play, and gain expirence you will level up the stats that you use more often. At the end of the season it cuts to a quick prompt and asks which league you want to play in, USHL or CHL(then OHL, WHL or QMJHL). While I know there are rules about how the CHL leagues get players, I want to write this as realisitc as I think a game developer would design it. Then there are the league drafts, and you get randomly assigned to one team in the chosen league. From there you have the option of playing full or abbreviated 10-20 game seasons. At the end of the season you are 17 and approaching your draft season. A cutscene plays about the hype your player is getting going into their draft year. You get offered to switch leagues(from USHL to CHL league of Choice or CHL league to USHL, cannot switch to different CHL league, right? I think thats the rules?) or join NCAA select one of 8 schools. In this season you automatically make the playoffs and play for the title. After everything, you enter the combine. The combine is supposed to be a fun few minigames, probably mostly on-ice skills test. If you perform very well it can improve your draft spot, and a poor showing could drop you a little(or a lot) depending on where you were slated pre-draft(I'd think slip a few spots if projected early first, and a dozen or more if projected late first, and even rounds if projected in the 2nd, but you can never go undrafted). Go through the draft process, maybe sign an endorsement deal if picked high enough. I think this would be a good point for the story to end. If the story doesn't end there, I think when you make the team(your rookie season), there are some rookie events that happen. Really need to follow what Madden and NBA2k do to build a solid career mode. Only change I make is cutscenes are skippable. Also, all of this needs to be optional. If I want to skip the story and start my career mode in the Memorial Cup, or CHL or NHL, then fine, but there needs to be some real meat and potatoes that keeps me playing in the be a pro. TL;DR: Play your Junior years in story mode, but have enough to keep you going after story mode is over. [link] [comments] |
| Anticipation Stick for Goalie control Posted: 07 May 2020 05:28 AM PDT I found NHL 16 was the best year for goalie controls because of the anticipation stick. I liked it because instead of locking the goalie in a save animation it provide more control over the goalie. For example if going for the cross crease save if you timed it right you could come across with different deaperation saves depending on the direction of the stick. The controls were more fluid. At the very least I would like it to be added back as an option. [link] [comments] |

My AI ignores deff and always enemy got breakaways. No matter what strategy I have. Enemy A.I : fkin impossible to pass. My A.I. "Oh look flowers let's just meditate for a sec k? And I got beat in a fight by Marchand. While my character in Be a pro might be in their second pro season, they're 6'3 and could wash Marchand in size alone, considering he hides behind Chara every altercation in real life. I can overlook every single instance of AI beating skill and the stats in-game. But I should be able to beat Marchand to a pulp. Hell I am out of shape and out of fucking shape piece of shit but my rage at this finger biting player should be beat down in a game setting [link] [comments] |

I'm creating a bunch of players I've had in older games (from at least NHL 15)that when carried over into NHL 18 and 19 kept their usual overall but now that I'm making them in NHL 20 they are dropping an average of 3 overall points sometimes more. But a lot of the options out there cost money or are built for in-person leagues. So I decided to just create our own. | Posted: 06 May 2020 08:48 PM PDT Let me start this off by saying that I love Snoop. I just got NHL because I love hockey & have been a bit bored during the lockdown. I've been playing my player mode & I thought it was super cool when Snoop showed up to announce the 2nd period of a game! The next game, much to my surprise, the Dog was back for another 2nd period. Awesome. Can't get enough about how he's friends with Sid the Mid & PK SUBBAN, MY MAN. I'm currently on a streak of 6 games with Snoop showing up. He may as well just be the third chair in the booth! I've won like 1 of my last 20 games now. Did they put me in a higher tier of players or something or are there just more good players playing now during the lockdown? | Posted: 06 May 2020 01:55 PM PDT During these times lets laugh together at some of the most frustrating or best times when you are playing with a "Joe NHL" type player. Can be a good memory or bad one. Mine from last night playing eliminators 3s drop in for some fun. Finally find a match see I'm with a computer and think nice that is good already have an advantage also playing with a prestige 2 dangler should be an easy game I'm a pretty safe two way players that hangs back when needed. Well I should have seen the warning signs from the intro "Joe" player screen says 24 hits instead of saying any wins well maybe its just been bad luck for him. I look at how tiny he is a 5"8 dangler hmm this could be trouble. Joe is on D I'm C I win the draw back and he gets hit right away going up the middle hey no big deal computer and I were open I head back and break up a 2 on 1. I get the puck and the call for the puck is just on repeat maybe he thinks im selfish I wait until he finally gets open avoiding a bad team that only going for body checks. I pass him the puck for an easy 2-0 for him and the computer and of course he passes it into the corner. Ok I think to myself maybe he will stop calling for the puck. WRONG WRONG He gets the puck back in the corner with more than enough time to feed the computer for a tap in goal he instead skates right into the goalie not getting off the shot and falling down. The other team comes down 3-1 on me and scores on a weak wrister from center ice "Thanks Lockhart., Oh well that is life he starts with the puck after the goal the computer and I get open and avoid body checks from the other team he instead thinks its a great idea to skate head first into the opposing player getting hit giving them 3-0 good news the opposing team can only score on one timers so they miss they have the puck in the corner I have my guy stuck in the corner the computer has his guy. Joe NHL leaves his man in front of the net to go try to hit my player leaving his guy all alone for the easy goal. That is fine whatever he gets the puck again I cover back this time as he hold onto the puck getting run over again I pick it up for the easy breakaway goal. The opposing team starts with the puck the team passes over to guy I'm covering Joe again leaves his guy all alone going for the check. Great 4-1 with money pucks. Joe does the same breakout play where he gets decked doesn't pass and other team scores 5-1. (-3) money puck here could be huge, Bad breakout play again but somehow the computer and I come out on a 2-0 computer has the puck and what do you know Joe calls for the pass while 3 guys are on him I just laugh at this point Joe is a 5'9 dangler who can't hit but always goes for it and constantly calls for the puck even when covered. Team scores its 6-0 I do my best to break up every 2-1 but you can only cover so many guys when your teammate it down on the ice trying to hit. Game ends my CR goes down -35 because opposing team is in the 400's my teammates CR is 225 TLDR: Don't play late night 3's Elims without friends or you are gonna have a bad time. Stay Safe everyone.
